Wet and windy day ahead

It will be a windy day today, strong and gusty southwest winds will reach gale force on coasts, according to Met Éireann. Rain and drizzle will clear from eastern counties this morning and it will be rather cloudy with a few patches of rain or drizzle. Mist and low cloud will affect some coastal areas and hills. Highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees. Persistent rain will arrive along the west coast later in the evening.

Wet and windy overnight as the persistent and locally heavy rain extends to all areas overnight with a clearance to scattered showers developing towards dawn. Temperatures not falling below 11 to 13 degrees as southwest winds moderate inland.

Tomorrow

There will be scattered showers and some drier and brighter intervals for Wednesday. Highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees in moderate to fresh south to southwest winds, easing later.
