It is with regret that we note the following deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Pat Maguire

Willesden, London and formerly Gubaveeney, Blacklion, Cavan, F91 KD70

Pat Maguire, Willesden, London and formerly Gubaveeney, Blacklion, Co.Cavan. Unexpectedly. Sadly missed by his heartbroken family, his mother Mary Ellen, brothers Michael, Brendan, John, Peter, Seamus and sister Helen. Predeceased by his father Hugh, brother Hugh, sisters Mary and Christina. Pat will be fondly remembered by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces extended family, neighbours and many friends.

May His Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Funeral Mass in The Church of The Immaculate Conception Doobally Dowra on Wednesday 3rd November at 12 o’clock followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. House private please. Family flowers only donations in lieu, if desired to Cavan Civil Defence.

Mary Monaghan

10 St. Mary's Terrace, Belturbet, Cavan / Julianstown, Meath

The death has occurred of Mary “Mamie” Monaghan, 10 St. Mary’s Terrace, Belturbet, Co. Cavan, Julianstown and Mosney peacefully at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by her dear friends. November 1st 2021 predeceased by her mother Mary Ellen, deeply regretted and sadly missed by her cousin Seamus, her good neighbours and friends in Belturbet, Julianstown, Mosney and far afield.

May She Rest in Peace.

Mamie’s remains will be reposing at Lawlor’s Funeral Home (H14 R583), Ernehill, Belturbet tomorrow Tuesday from 6pm until evening prayers at 8pm. Removal on Wednesday morning at 11.30 to arrive at the Church of the Immaculate Conception Belturbet for 12noon funeral mass with burial afterwards in Staghall cemetery.

Des O'REILLY

Caherdavin Lawn, Caherdavin, Limerick / Donegal / Cavan / Clonmellon, Meath

Des died peacefully at University Hospital Limerick.

Pre-deceased by his beloved wife Philomena (née McGinty) and sister Carmel Traynor. Sadly missed by his sister Pearl Doran, his much loved nieces & nephews and wonderful neighbours and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Requiem Mass will take place in Christ the King Church, Caherdavin on Thursday 4th November at 10am and will be streamed-live here.

Funeral afterwards to St. Agatha’s Churchyard, Clar, Donegal.

Margaret (Peggy) McQuaid (née McMahon)

Gola, Scotstown, Monaghan

Peacefully, at home, in the loving care of her family, in her 96th year. Predeceased by her husband Michael. Dearly loved mother of Mary, John, Michael and Thomas, son-in-law Alo, daughters-in-law Mary, Deirdre and Lorraine, grandchildren and sister Tessie.

May Peggy's gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

Peggy will be reposing at her residence. Private to family and friends until removal at 11am on Tuesday 2nd November, 2021 to arrive at St Mary's Church, Urbleshanny for funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Peggy's funeral Mass can be viewed on Tydavnet RC facebook page.

Anyone wishing to pay their respects may do so as the funeral cortège travels from the house to the chapel on Tuesday morning, adhering to social distancing guidelines at all times.

Deeply regretted by her daughter, sons, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, sister, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews and extended circle of family and friends.
