It is with regret that we note the following deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

John Finnerty

Kilnaleck, Cavan / Rush, Dublin

Finnerty (Doctor’s Lane, Rush and lately Lavagh, Cavan) Nov 7, 2021, (peacefully) after a short illness in the wonderful care of the staff of Cavan General Hospital, John, dearly beloved husband of the late Cora (nee Butterly) and much loved father of Joe, Paula, Margaret, Helen, Martin and the late Bernadette; he is deeply mourned and sadly missed by his sons and daughters, their partners Brenda, Frank, Paul, Mark, Kristina and Jim, his adored grandchildren Russell, Sophie, Isabelle, Graham, Jamie, Hannah, Lisa, Lucy, Coral, Alex, David, Sonia, Cheryl, Amy, Lincoln, Emma and Matthew, his great-grandchildren and all his extended family and friends.

May John Rest In Peace.

Reposing in Fitzgerald’s Funeral Directors, Rush on Wednesday evening from 6pm to 8pm. A funeral service for John will take place on Thursday morning at 10.40am in Dardistown Crematorium. No flowers by request, donation, if desired, to Irish Heart Foundation.

James McCONNELL

Rathfarnham, Dublin / Bailieborough, Cavan

Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in the care of Tallaght University Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Joan and much loved father of Marian, Maurice, Seamus, Joan, Carmel, Una and Kevin. Proud grandfather to Alan, Niamh, Donal, Avril, Sean, Patrick, Christopher, Nicola and Thomas and great-grandfather to James, Caoimhe, Tom and Sadhbh. Sadly missed by his, sons/daughters-in-law/partner George, Sharon, John, Helen and Daniel, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Removal on Wednesday morning (10 November) to the Church of the Holy Spirit, Ballyroan arriving for Funeral Mass at 10 am followed by burial in Kilmashogue Cemetery, Edmondstown. The Funeral Mass can be viewed live at this link https://www.ballyroanparish.ie/.

Gerard McCrudden

Rosefield, Ballinode, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Gerard McCrudden, Rosefield, Ballinode, Co. Monaghan, Sunday, 7th November, peacefully at Monaghan General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Pre-deceased by his parents John & Ellen, brothers Jimmy & Owenie and his sisters Ann & Kathleen.

May his gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Gerard will be sadly missed by his loving wife Pauline, sons, Seanie, Gerard, Matthew & Jamie, daughter Emma, brothers, Seán, Paudge & Malachy, sisters, Mary, Eileen, Monica & Trish, daughters in law Aisling, Cathy & Catherine, grandchildren, James, Elsie & Daithí, extended family and friends.

Gerard's remains will repose at his residence on Monday from 4pm to 9pm and Tuesday from 3pm to 9pm (please adhere to social distancing guidelines at all times). Please note, there will be a one way system in operation entering via Ballinode/Kilmore Church. Gerard's Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday morning at 11am at St.Mary's Church, Threemilehouse https://mcnmedia.tv/camera/st-marys-church-2 followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan (cremation will be private to family only please).

Marie Sherry (née McGuigan)

Clonkeenlucas, Clones, Monaghan, H23 K884

The death has occurred of Marie Sherry (nee Mc Guigan), Clonkeenlucas, Clones, Co. Monaghan, Saturday, 6th November 2021. Predeceased by her father Kevin and sister Joan. Cherished and adored wife of Eddie. Marie will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her husband, mother Doloras, sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, mother-in-law Agnes, extended family, friends and by all who knew and loved Marie.

Marie will repose at the family home(H23K884) tomorrow, Tuesday, 9th and again Wednesday 10th from 2pm to 8pm. Private Cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan on Thursday, 11th November. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to Cavan/Monaghan Palliative Care or St James Hospital, Dublin C/o any family member or Martin's Funeral Directors, Newbliss.
