It is with regret that we note the following deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Frances Clarke

O’Growney Terrace, Kells, Meath / Bailieborough, Cavan

Late of Bailieborough, Cavan. Peacefully at Beaufort House, in her 96th year, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents, husband Owen, brothers Paddy and Johnny, sisters Annie and Bridget, grandson Caiden and daughter-in-law Grainne. Sadly missed by her loving family, sons Thady and John, daughters-in law Patricia and Karen, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing at James Fox Funeral Home, C15PH6T on Thursday, 9th December, from 2pm to 5pm, with removal to St. Colmcille's Church, Kells for 6pm, Frances’ Funeral Cortège will pass by her home on route to St. Colmcille's Church. Funeral Mass will take place in St. St. Colmcilles Church, Kells at 11am on Friday with burial afterwards St. Colmcilles Cemetery.

The Mass will be streamed live via https://www.kellsparish.ie/our-parish/webcam/. Condolence notices may be left in the below condolence book.

John Duffy

Clifferna, Stradone, Cavan

Peacefully, at College View Nursing Home. Deeply regretted by his nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Lakeland's Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan, tomorrow, Wednesday, from 6pm, concluding with prayers at 7.30pm. Removal on Thursday to arrive at St. Michael's Church, Clifferna, for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Please refrain from shaking hands. Social distancing should be observed at all times.

Sheila McCann

Toam, Blacklion, Cavan / Sligo Town, Sligo

Sheila McCann, Cregg Community Services, No. 8 Hilltop, Cairns Road, Sligo and formerly of Toam, Blacklion, Co. Cavan, peacefully.

Deeply regretted by her brothers and sisters, Frank, Margaret, Kathleen, Eileen, Danny, James, John and Kevin. Her sisters in law and brothers in law, nephews nieces, extended family and many friends in the Cregg Community.

May Her Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Sheila’s Funeral Mass will take place in St. Patrick’s Church, Killinagh, Blacklion, on Friday, 10th Dec. at 11 am, followed by burial in Killinagh Cemetery.

Due to the current Covid restrictions, house is private, please.

Bridie McEvoy (née Smith)

Creamfield, Carrickaboy, Cavan

Bridie McEvoy (nee Smith) Creamfield, Carrickaboy, Co. Cavan. Tuesday, December 7th (peacefully) in Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by her husband Tom and brother Jamesie. Sadly missed by her sister Rosemary, nephews, friends and neighbours.

Rest In Peace.

Reposing at Briody's Funeral Home, Kilnaleck on Wednesday evening from 6pm to 8pm. Removal on Thursday morning to St. Matthew's Church, Drumavaddy, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Interment afterwards in local cemetery.

Brigid Smith

Aughawelia, Ballinagh, Cavan

Peacefully at Beaumont Hospital on 6th December, 2021. Predeceased by her parents Peter and Mary Kate, and her brother Tommy. Brigid will be sadly missed by her heartbroken family, sisters Mary, Marcella, Anne, Frances and Kathleen, brothers Peter, Liam, John and twin brother Pat, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Smith’s Funeral Home, Barrack St., Granard, on Wednesday the 8th from 5.30pm to 8pm, adhering to all social distancing guidelines and Covid 19 regulations. Funeral Mass on Friday, 10th of December, at St Mary’s Church, Bruskey, at 12 noon, followed by Christian burial in Mullaghboy Cemetery.

Agnes Sherry

Clonmore, Clones, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Agnes Sherry, Clonmore, Clones, Co. Monaghan. Agnes passed away in Mullinahinch Nursing Home, Monaghan, Tuesday 7th December. Predeceased by her husband Peter and daughter-in-law, Marie. Cherished and adored mother of Annemarie and Eddie. Agnes will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her daughter, son, extended family, neighbours, friends and by all who knew and loved her.

Agnes remains will arrive to the Sacred Heart Chapel, Clones, this Wednesday evening for 7pm. Funeral Mass tomorrow, Thursday 9th December, at 11am, followed by burial in Mount St Oliver's Cemetery, Clones.

Colm Hughes

Tyholland, Monaghan

Colm Hughes, in his 39th year, Letrim, Tyholland, Co. Monaghan Passed away, peacefully, on the 6th of December 2021, at Cavan General Hospital. Survived by his parents Seamus and Ann, his siblings Paul (Maggie), Barry, Lorraine (Clive), Maria (Kevin), his nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, extended family and friends.

Colm's remains will be reposing at his residence on Tuesday and Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm and leaving his residence at 10.15am on Thursday morning, on foot, to St Patrick’s Church, Tyholland, for 11am funeral Mass and burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Funeral Mass can be viewed at St Patrick’s Church Tyholland Webcam. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to ICU Cavan General Hospital.

Kathleen Kierans (née Cassidy)

80 Tully, Monaghan Town, Monaghan

KATHLEEN KIERANS, 80 Tully, Monaghan. Who died Monday 6th December peacefully in Oakview Nursing Home, Belturbet. Predeceased by her loving husband Patsy. Sadly missed and loved by her family, son Hugh, daughters Debbie and Marian, sons in law Christy and Steve and grandchildren Bronagh, Niamh, Caitlin, Patrick and Dylan.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Funeral mass on Thursday morning at 11am in St Macartan's Cathedral, Monaghan and burial afterwards in Latlurcan Old Graveyard Cemetery. Family flowers only please. House private please due to Covid19 restrictions.
