Community AGM ??Stradone Community AGM is on this Wednesday, 13th February at 9 p.m. in the Centre and all organisations in the parish are asked to please send at least one member. Confirmation ??A special date for some Confirmation is in Laragh on Friday, 2nd May. Laragh Women?s Group ??All members are asked to attend a meeting of the group on Monday night, 25th February at 8.30 p.m. to arrange the Autumn 2008 schedule and plan for further activities. ??The meeting will take place in St. Michael?s Centre, Clifferna. Cardinal extends thanks ??A lovely letter to the priests and people of the parish from Cardinal Sean Brady in thanks for the memorable Mass and presentations on Friday week last given to him which was attended by all the churches. Laragh United G.F.C. ??Draw winners were Mary Shiels, Teresa Fitzsimons, Ann Rahill, Dessie Brady and James O?Rourke. Kilmore Pilgrimage ??To Lourdes from May 27th to 1st June. More details later. Pilgrimage to Knock ??On Sunday, 15th June. Times will be given at a later date. Dancing Classes ??In Stradone every Monday night at 9 p.m. Everyone welcome. 25 Card Game ??Card game continues in St. Michael?s Centre, Clifferna, every Thursday night with proceeds to St. Michael?s Church Repair Fund. Last weeks winners were Bartley McGovern, Andy McGivney, Monica McDonagh, Jim Plunkett and Brennie Cooney. Recent Death ??The death took place in Chicago of Cathal Lynch, formerly of Tierlahood. We sympathise with his sisters Una and Teresa, Tierlahood. Bereaved ??Sympathy is extended to Jimmy O?Donnell, tierlahood, on the death of his mother, Agnes O?Donnell, Belturbet. Her funeral took place last week in Drumalee cemetery. ??Patrick Connoly, Cavan, who died in England. His funeral will be in Cavan at time to be arranged. We sympathise with his sister, Mrs. Mona O?Reilly, Stradone Village. ??Sympathy is also extended to Mae Fitzpatrick on the death of her husband Sean, also to his son John and extended family. ??Sean was formerly from Knockateggart, Stradone, and had a business in Dublin until a few years ago when he became ill. His funeral was in Clifferna on Saturday last.
