Almost 17,000 Covid cases confirmed today

It's a slight drop on recent days.

The Department of Health has confirmed 16,986 new cases of Covid-19 today.

It's a slight drop on yesterday's figure when 17,071 cases were announced.

The Department says that of 8am today, 804 patients with Covid-19 are in hospital, with 93 are in ICU.

The number of positive tests confirmed has fallen slightly over recent days but the number of people in hospital with the virus has increased.

The number in hospital today is 87 higher than the same time yesterday but the number in ICU has remained somewhat stable.
