Gardaí investigate latest burglary incident

Gardaí in Carrickmacross are investigating a break-in to a house.

The incident occurred at a property located at Tullynaskeagh West (Drumconrath Road) on Monday last, January 11, between the hours of 6:30pm and 8:30pm.

A sum of cash was taken during the break-in and gardaí are asking that anyone with information about suspicious callers in that area to contact the Gardai in Carrickmacross on 042 9690190.

Arrests

Meanwhile, two men have been charged and have appeared before court in relation to being found with items alleged to have been stolen from a business premises in Kingscourt on Sunday, January 9.

Gardaí in Bailieborough responded to an incident where it was reported that three males had stolen items from the business premises and shortly afterwards intercepted a car travelling in the area.

The three men were detained under Section 4 Criminal Justice Act 1984 for questioning in Bailieborouugh and Carrickmacross Garda Stations.

Two of the three men were later charged in relation to the incident and have appeared in Court.

“The stolen property was also recovered,” report gardaí. “Investigations are continuing.”
