Hundreds attend vigils in memory of Aishling Murphy

Garda investigations into her murder are continuing.

Vigils held across Cavan last night saw a strong turnout as people across the country paid tribute to Aishling Murphy.

There was shock at the news the 23 year-old was murdered while out for a run in Tullamore on Wednesday evening.

A candlelight vigil held in Cavan town's Market Square last night saw hundreds turn out.

Other events were also held across the region, including in Bailieborough and Clones.

Another vigil is planned for this evening, with more across the county and country over the coming days.

Tonight's is planned at the Market House in Ballyconnell at 4pm this afternoon.

A walk is also planned at Erica's Fairy Forest in Cootehill tomorrow morning (Sunday) at 10am.
