Climate change coming

The sight of some roses in bloom in a sheltered location has finally convinced a majority of the local debating society that the weather is changing or, so one member put it, winter is turning into summer and vice versa.  This is a major departure for these steadfast gentlemen, some of whom quoted ice ages, the big wind of 1839 and the snowdrifts of 1947 to prove that change was nothing new and that everything would revert to “normal” in time.  One question was left unanswered in the future, what would be the best time of year to plant onions?

G.A.A.
