It is with regret that we note the following deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Mai Carolan (née Brady)

Granaciunia, Killinkere, Virginia, Cavan

Mai Carolan (nee Brady) Granaciunia, Killinkere, Virginia, Co. Cavan. Died 2nd March 2022, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital after a short illness. Predeceased by her husband Pat. Deeply regretted by her sons Micheal and Edward, daughter Marie (Collins), sister Kathleen, daughters in law Verona and Susan, son in law Ian, grandchildren Shane, Aisling, Brendan, Padraic and Josh, sisters in law, Brother in law Fr Edward Carolan , nieces, nephews, and extended family, neighbours and friends.

May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Clarke’s Funeral Home, Bailieborough Thursday evening from 2pm to 6pm. Removal at 6.30pm to arrive at St Utan’s Church, Killinkere at 7pm. Funeral Mass Friday at 11 am with burial afterwards in St Ultan’s Cemetery, Killinkere.

John E. Corrie

Hillcrest, Leiter, Bailieborough, Cavan

The death has occurred of John E. Corrie, Hillcrest, Leiter, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan, at Cavan General Hospital on Tuesday, 1st March 2022, peacefully, surrounded by his adoring family, sadly missed by his loving wife Sadie, son Douglas (Pamela) daughters Sandra (John) and Barbara (Mark), treasured grandchildren Jonathan, Jenny, Lauren and Hayley, brothers James (Rita) and Trevor (Daisy), extended family and wide circle of friends.

Resting at Clarke’s Funeral Home, Bailieborough from 7pm to 9pm on Thursday, 3rd March, and funeral service in Bailieborough Parish Church on Friday, 4th March, at 2:30pm, with burial afterwards in adjoining graveyard. Wearing of masks would be appreciated.

House strictly private. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to the Irish Red Cross (Ukraine Appeal) c/o undertaker or any family member.

Hugh Hague

late of Knockateggart, Stradone and, Belturbet, Cavan

Peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Rosaleen (nee Tobin). Deeply regretted by his loving daughter MaryAgnes (England), stepson Jimmy Tobin (Navan), step-daughter Nora Fay (Tunnyduff), brother Peter (Ballyhaise), grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Hugh was a loyal member of the Sinn Fein Party.

Repose at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan, tomorrow, Thursday, from 5pm, concluding with prayers at 6.45pm. Removal on Friday at 11am (via Laragh House), to arrive at St. Brigid's Church, Knockbride West, for Funeral Mass at 12noon, burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations, in lieu, to Palliative Care, Cavan General Hospital, care of PJ Brady, Funeral Director, Stradone. Messages of sympathy can be left in the link below.
