It is with regret that we note the following deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

George Herbert Hall

Lattycopple, Cootehill, Cavan

Passed away, peacefully on Friday, the 11th of March in the loving care of his family & staff of Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by his parents George & Elizabeth, sisters Ivy & Ruby. Beloved husband of Violet, loving father of Hazel, George, Stephen, David, Lorraine & Richard. Herbert will be sadly missed by his wife, sons, daughters, daughters-in-law Monica & Kelly, son-in-law Raymond, partners Tara, Lisa & Conall. His beloved grandchildren Alex, Isabella, Katelynn, Charlie, Luke, George, Emily, Ryan, Ava, Elliott & Conor, sister Renee, brothers-in-law John Hiatt & William Surphlis, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours & friends.

Resting at his home Saturday, the 12th of March, until removal Monday the 14th of March. House open to family and friends on Sunday the 13th from 3pm – 7pm, private at all other times.

Funeral cortege will leave his residence on Monday, the 14th of March, at 1:15pm to arrive at Drum Presbyterian Church, for funeral service at 2pm, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard. Funeral service will be streamed live on the webcam link below (to follow).

Family flowers only, please. Donations if so desired, in lieu of flowers, to Drum Sunday School or the Respiratory Department Cavan Hospital.

Sheila Manning (née Morris)

Lowville, Ahascragh, Galway / Cavan

Formerly of Drumcarey, Co. Cavan. Passed away peacefully in her 92nd year on Friday 11th March, 2022, in her own home, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Liam. Much loved mother of Siobhán, Phelim, Gráinne, Fiona, Angie, Órla, Liam Óg, Clodagh and Niamh. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Gladys, 22 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, sons in law, daughters in law, extended family and friends.

Reposing in Fohenagh Funeral Home on Sunday 13th March from 5 pm to 7 pm. Funeral Mass on Monday 14th March in St. Patrick's Church, Fohenagh, (H53 HP26) at 12 noon which may be viewed online at https://funeralslive.ie/sheila-manning/. Burial afterwards in Killure Cemetery (H53 DN79). Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Cancer Care West. All those attending are asked to please respect the current guidelines.

Noel O'Hagan

Crover, Mountnugent, Cavan

Friday 11th March, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Deeply regretted by his cherished wife & best friend Cathleen, sisters Annmarie & Tresha, aunt, uncles, cousins, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, extended O’Hagan and Monaghan families and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Gibneys Funeral Home, Oldcastle on Tuesday 15th March, from 5pm to 7pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday 16th March at 12 o'clock, in St. Brigid's Church, Mountnugent. Burial afterwards in Ballinacree Cemetery.

Jane Smith (née Hetherton)

Behey, Stradone, Cavan

Peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Seamus, sons Matthew, James and Vincent, daughters Ann and Suzetta. Sadly missed by her husband, sons, daughters, brothers Pat, Seamus and John, sisters Margaret, Ann and Mary, sons-in-law Tommy and Shane, daughters-in-law Deepa and Lisa, her 12 adoring grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Lakeland's Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan, tomorrow Sunday, (walk through only), from 2pm until 4pm. Removal from her home on Monday, to arrive at St. Dympna's Church, Upper Lavey, for Funeral Mass at 12 noon, burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to The Irish Red Cross. House private at all times, please.

Colin Clarke

Drumshannon, Newbliss, Monaghan

Unexpectedly, on Saturday, 12th March 2022, at Cavan General Hospital.

Resting at his brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Lily Clarke's home, Coraghbrack, Monaghan, eircode H18 P953, until removal on Monday, 14th March, at 1pm, for Funeral Service in Newbliss Presbyterian Church, at 2pm. Interment afterwards in the adjoining church yard. Colin's funeral cortege will travel via his late home.

Callers welcome on Sunday, from 2pm until 10pm. House private on Monday morning please.

Colin will be dearly missed by his partner Linda (Nesbitt), brothers Cecil (Lily), Mervyn (Margaret), Teddy (Dolly), Carson (Denise), his nieces and nephews and all the family circle. Pre-deceased by his brothers Freddie and Percy.

Rose Conlan

Derrygoes, Newtownbutler, Co Fermanagh

Beloved wife of the late Jim (John James) Satuday March 12th peacefully at home in the loving care of her family.

Removal from her home on Monday March 12th at 10.30am to St Alphonsus Church, Connons, arriving for 11.00am Requiem Mass, interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Oliver Murray

Parkville Lodge, Ardee Road, Carrickmacross, Monaghan

Suddenly at his home, 12th March 2022.

Predeceased by his siblings Ronnie Murray (Navan), May Kierans (Drogheda) and Nora O’Reilly (Leeds, U.K.). Deeply regretted by his loving wife Eileen, daughters Sonia McMahon, Tracy Biggins & Michelle Murray and his son David. Sadly missed by his sister Joan Clarke (New Jersey, U.S.A.), grandchildren Lisa, Emma, Aaron, Ben and Charlotte, daughter-in-law Samantha Murray, sons-in-law Enda McMahon & John Biggins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Kieran Bros. Funeral Home, Hall Street, Kingscourt, Co. Cavan on Monday evening, 14th March from 5pm to 8pm.

Oliver’s Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday 15th March in St. Joseph's Church, Carrickmacross at 11am, followed by burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
