Leading home care provider commits to combating inflation for staff

Irish HomeCare, a leading national provider of home care services in Ireland, has announced a €1.5m investment into its care teams across the country, as part of its commitment to ensure the financial wellbeing of its staff.

The investment follows an announcement from the company, in June 2021, of the recruitment of 750 staff. The investment is focussed on frontline home care workers who visit the homes of the elderly and people with disabilities, living in the community, to provide specialised support and care services.

It will provide significant enhancements to pay rates, travel expenses, along with the recruitment of eight national roles, solely focussed on improving the logistical efficiencies associated with the movement of care staff between clients’ homes.

John Florence, Chief Executive Officer of Irish HomeCare, said: “Irish HomeCare’s vision is to provide the best possible quality of life to everyone. In order for us to provide the highest-quality home care service, we need to ensure that our Carers receive the best terms and conditions for their employment.”

The demand for home care has surged since the pandemic began. The company provides high-quality training to new staff when they join the company.
