The death has occurred unexpectedly of Fonsie Comey, Fairview, Dublin and late of Curraghkeel, Ballyjamesd­uff, Co. Cavan at the Mater Hospital Dublin on March 20. Predeceased by his brothers Kevin, Jody, Brendan and Martin and his niece Claire ( Branham). Deeply regretted by his brothers Paddy and Nicholas and his sisters Mary and Breege, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, sisters in law, brother in law, relatives and friends.

The death has occurred of Micheál McConnon, Rocks Road, Kingscourt, Co. Cavan, suddenly at his home, 19th March, 2022.

Predeceased by his parents Michael & Kathleen and his brothers Patrick & Jim. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Brenda, sisters Anna & Brenda, brothers Aidan, Seán, Gene, Cieran & Martin. Sadly missed by his mother-in-law Patsi, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Phyllis Garvey (née Smith)

Mullantlavan, Carrickmacross, Monaghan / Kingscourt, Cavan

The death has occurred of Phyllis Garvey, née Smith, Mullantlavan, Magheracloone, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan and formerly of Enniskeen, Kingscourt, Co. Cavan, peacefully, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, 18th March 2022.

Predeceased by her parents, Mary & Jemmy, and her father-in-law Francie Garvey. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Paddy, daughter Ruth and son Padraig, their partners Leona & Cormac. Sadly missed by her sister Marion, brothers Philip & James, her mother-in-law Cecilia Garvey, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at her home on Monday from 2pm to 9pm and on Tuesday from 1pm until 8pm. Phyllis’s Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday 23rd March in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kingscourt at 10am, followed by cremation afterwards in Lakelands Crematorium.

Kathleen MC DERMOTT (née Brady)

Carrick Road, Shercock, Cavan

Peacefully at Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by her husband Michael. Deeply regretted by her daughters, Marian (Ballylinan, Co Laois), Aine (Baileborough), son, Micheal (Ennis, Co. Clare), grandchildren, David, Colin, Lisa, Gary, Niall, Kelly, Paul and Katie, great-grandchildren, Amy and Jaxon, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, nephews, nieces, many friends and neighbours.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Reposing at her residence on Sunday afternoon from 1pm until 4pm. Family time thereafter with removal at 5.45pm on Sunday to arrive at St Patrick's Church, Shercock for 6 o'clock. Funeral Mass on Monday morning at 11 o' clock. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Anyone wishing to offer their condolences may leave a message on the link provided.

Patrick Francis O'Haire

Carrickleck, Kingscourt, Meath / Kingscourt, Cavan

The death has occurred of Patrick Francis O’Haire, Carrickleck, Kingscourt, Co. Meath and formerly of Kilbrook, Co. Kildare and Ascot, Berkshire, U.K., suddenly at his home, 18/03/2022.

Predeceased by his brothers Frank and Brendan. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Margaret, daughter Suzanne, sisters Caroline & Mary, brothers Willy, Thomas, Ray, Gerard & David. Sadly missed by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A ceremony to celebrate Pat's life will take place in Lakelands Crematorium on Tuesday, 22nd March, at 2pm with cremation afterwards.

Lucy Walsh (née Warrington)

Swiftbrook, Virginia, Cavan

The death has occurred, peacefully, of Lucy Walsh (nee Warrington) on 18 March 2022, at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Brian. Deeply regretted by her heartbroken children, her daughters Clare (Byrne) and Fiona (Walsh) and her sons Brian and Declan, her adored grandchildren Tara, Daniel, Meryem, Rebecca, Chris, Stephen, Jack, Kellie and John, her daughters and son in law Mandy, Colette and Greg, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A celebration of Lucy's life will take place on Wednesday at 12 o'clock in Matthew’s Funeral Home (A82YV58), Bailieborough Road, Virgina, for family and friends. All are welcome. This will be followed by a private cremation at Lakelands Crematorium at 1.30 o'clock. Family flowers only please.

Formerly Cornanure and Dunmaurice, Ballybay, Co. Monaghan. Unexpectedly, on Saturday, 19th March 2022, at home. Pre-deceased by her husband Eugene.

Sheila will be dearly missed by her son Roy (Ann) and daughter Elaine.

Resting at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Ann Brown, Dunmaurice, Ballybay, until removal on Tuesday, 22nd March, at 1.30pm, for Funeral service in 2nd Ballybay Presbyterian Church, at 2pm. Interment afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard.

Bradley (nee Evans) (Warrenpoint) 17th March 2022, suddenly, Margaret Ann, loving wife of Simon 26, Meadowlands Avenue, Warrenpoint and formerly of Monaghan Town, and much loved sister of Agnes, Donal, Ciara, Caroline and Patricia.

Margaret’s remains will repose at the home of her sister Agnes 61, Bridge Road, Burren BT34 3QX from 7pm on Saturday 19th March until removal on Monday arriving at St. Peter’s Church, Warrenpoint for 10.30am Funeral Mass, which can be viewed live on webcam (churchmedia.tv) followed by interment in Warrenpoint Municipal Cemetery.

Deeply regretted by her loving husband, sisters, brother, nephews, nieces and entire family circle.

The death has occurred of Eugene McCabe, Clontoe, Ballinode, Co.Monaghan, H18 XD77, Saturday 19th March, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Sadly missed and always loved by his wife Pamela, his children, Marese, Gary, Sinead, Karen & Noel, their partners, Donna, John, Stephen & Michelle. Eugene's remains will repose at his residence on Sunday from 2pm - 10pm and Monday from 2pm - 10pm. Eugene's remains will leave his late residence on Tuesday morning at 10.30am to arrive at St.Mary's Church, Urbleshanney for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. House strictly private on Tuesday morning please.

Sheila Murphy (née Keating)

Highfield, Arklow, Wicklow / Monaghan Town, Monaghan

Murphy (née Keating) Highfield, Dublin Road, Arklow, Co. Wicklow and formerly of Glaslough Street, Monaghan, who passed away on the 18th March 2022, peacefully in the tender care of the doctors, nurses and staff at The Blackrock Clinic, Dublin. Sheila beloved wife of Fergus loving mum of Deirdre, Maeve and Orla dearly loved sister of the late Michael, Pat and Mary. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, daughters, grandchildren Oonagh, Patrick, Tara, Finley, Rory and Daniel, sons-in-law Paul, Stephen and Johnnie, sisters-in-law Monica and Lucy, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Hudson’s Funeral Home Monday from 4.30pm with removal at 6.30pm to St. Joseph’s Church Templerainey, Arklow arriving for reception prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass Tuesday morning at 10.30 am, followed by burial in Barniskey Graveyard.
