It is with regret that we note the following deaths in counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Leah Farrelly

Drumina, Virginia, Cavan

The death has occurr­ed, unexpectedly, of Leah Farrelly, peacefully at her home in Drumina, Virginia, on Friday 15 April. Much loved and cherished daughter of Dessie and Nuala and adored sister of Grace. Predeceased recently by her beloved Grandmother Monty. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her Dad , Mum and sister, her uncles Thomas (Anne), Gary (Helen), Michael (Chanita) and Sean (Wendy), her aunts Dolores (Gerry), Gloria (Kate) and Caroline, her grandparents Eamon and Sheila (Tully), her adored cousins Emma Jane, Niall, Dylan, Lauren, Blathnaid, Sorcha, Rachel, Niamh, Erin and Edward, her grandaunts, granduncles, extended family and her many many friends in Lurgan Ladies, Cavan East Eagles, Indian Tandoori Virginia, Park Ri Kells and her college friends and staff in TU GrangeGorman.

Reposing at Matthews Funeral Home, Bailieborough Road, Virginia (A82YV58) on Monday from 4 o’clock until prayers at 8 o'clock.Walk through only please. Thereafter family time only please. Removal from her home on Tuesday morning via Dunancory Bridge, to arrive at St. Patrick’s Church Lurgan for 12 o'clock Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired to " The Cry Centre", Tallaght (CRYP), c/o Matthews Funeral Directors donation envelope. (The centre for Cardiac Risk in the Young person.)

Leah's family respectfully ask for their home to be strictly private at this time.

Charles (Charlie) Adams

Clondinnery, Newbliss, Co. Monaghan

Peacefully, at home surrounded by his loving family. Charlie will be sadly missed and remembered with love by Violet, his sons Stephen (Carmina), Warren (Melissa) grandchildren, Charlie, Harvey and Milo, Sisters Betty ( Wilkinson, Monaghan) and Yvonne (Wilson, Lisburn), brother Gerry (Ingrid, Drum), Pamela, Tracy, Mark (Antoinette), Violet's parents Lily and Eric, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, neighbours, extended family and by all who knew and loved Charlie.

Charlie will repose at his residence tomorrow afternoon, Sunday (17th April) from 2pm to 8pm with removal on Monday afternoon (18th April) at 1.15pm to arrive at Drum Church of Ireland, Drum for 2pm Funeral Service. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Graveyard. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu of flowers to Cavan/Monaghan Palliative Care C/o Martin's Funeral Directors Newbliss or any family member.

Maura Clerkin (née Hendry)

Blackwater Vale, Milltown, Monaghan Town, Monaghan

Peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband Gerry and her granddaughter Leah-Marie.

Sadly missed by her son Gerard, daughters Geraldine and Celine, daughter in law Marita, son in law Harry, grandchildren Emma, Karla, Mark, Conor and Michael, sisters Lucy and Dympna, brother Seamus, brother in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. R.I.P.

Reposing at her home on Sunday (17/04/2022) and Monday (18/04/2022) , subject to Covid 19 guidelines. House private on Tuesday morning please.

Removal on Tuesday (19/04/2022) at 10.15 a.m., arriving at St. Macartan’s Cathedral, Monaghan for Funeral Mass at 11 a.m.

Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Old Cemetery, Latlurcan.
