It is with regret that we note the following deaths from counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

John Dan Floyd

Ballybofey, Donegal / Crosserlough, Cavan

FLOYD, John Dan (Dreenan, Ballybofey and formerly Lismulladuff, County Donegal) – 24th. April 2022. John is now reunited with his beloved wife, Lesley, following a peaceful passing at his home in Crosserlough, County Cavan, surrounded by his children Debbie, Anita and Peter. He will be sadly missed by his loving family, grandchildren Martin, Steven, Craig, Amanda, Philip, Stephen, Cara and Matthew, his great-grandchildren, son-in-law Martin, daughter-in-law Linda, brothers Kevin and Christy, sisters Agnes, Rose and Kathleen, his extended family, relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service for John will take place at 11 o'clock on Wednesday morning (27th. April 2022) in Lakelands Crematorium.

Paul Galligan

Caulfield, Tullyco, Cootehill, Cavan, H16 YY72

Suddenly at Beaumont Hospital. Deeply regretted by his heartbroken parents Philip and Mary, brother Philip, sister Sharon, partner and best friend Nicola. Sadly missed by his sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives and many, many friends.

Rest in Peace

Reposing at the Family Home, Caulfield, tomorrow, Tuesday, from 4pm to 7pm (Walk through only). House private at all other times. Removal on Wednesday to arrive at St. Brigid's Church, Laragh for Funeral Mass at 12noon, burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu to Cancer Homecare c/o PJ Brady, Funeral Director.

Padraig McGovern

Lynden Court, Portlaoise, Laois / Glangevlin, Cavan

McGovern. Lynden Court, Portlaoise, 24th April 2022. Suddenly at St James Hospital. Surrounded by his loving family. Pre-deceased by his parents Terry and Una. Much loved by his heartbroken wife, Siobhan, sons Daniel, Aidan, Liam, his partner Laura, daughter Ciara and her fiancé Kevin. Deeply regretted by his loving brothers Prionsias, Terence, Jim and Dominic, sisters Norma, Pauline and Gretta, uncles, aunts, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Reposing at Keegans Funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6.30 pm, with rosary at 8 pm. Removal on Wed to arrive at SS Peter and Paul's Church for 12 noon requiem mass. Cremation will follow in Newlands Crematorium on Thursday. The family wish to thank you for you understanding at this difficult time. Please observe covid precaution.

Minnie Browne (née Lennon)

Lisnadaragh, Shercock, Monaghan

In her 98th year. Peacefully, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Reposing at her residence today, Monday, from 12pm to 8pm (A81CA29). Predeceased by her parents Michael & Bridget Lennon, her daughter Doreen, grandson Mark Keenan. Sadly missed and remembered with love by her son Eamon, partner Majella, Brendan, wife Martina, Dermot, wife Patricia and PJ, her daughter Geraldine, husband Peter, Patricia (Pat) and Marie. Adored by her 30 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Missed by nieces, nephews and wide circle of friends.

REST IN PEACE

Minnie's funeral Mass takes place in St Patrick's Church, Bawn, on Tuesday, 26th of April, at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Anyone wishing to offer their condolences may leave a message on the link below. Funeral may be viewed on St Patrick's Church Bawn website.

Mary Devlin Woods

Clonavogy, Broomfield, Castleblayney, Monaghan / Broomfield, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Mary Devlin Woods. Clonavogy, Broomfield, Castleblayney. 25th April 2022. Peacefully at her home surrounded by her cherished family & friends. Predeceased by her beloved husband Noel, her parents Peter & Elizabeth & her sisters Ann & Pauline.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by her loving family, her aunt Paul Finlay, her aunt-in-law Kathleen McArdle, her uncle-in-law Vinny McEvoy, her cousins - Maggie's grandchildren, her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, the extended Woods & Mulligan families and her many friends & neighbours.

Mary will repose at Lonergan Funeral Directors Funeral Home, Carrickmacross, A81 D328, on Tuesday, 26th April, from 5pm until 7pm and at her home, Clonavoy, Broomfield, from 8pm until removal on Wednesday, 27th April, at 10:40am driving to St. Patrick's Church, Broomfield for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Pat Doran, Coolmannon, Doohamlet, Castleblayney, Co.Monaghan. Monday, April 25th, peacefully at Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda, surrounded by his family. Pat predeceased by his wife Margaret, brother Niall and sister Kathleen. Deeply regretted and remembered with love by his family, son John, daughter Bridie, daughter in-law Deirdre, son in-law Michael, sisters Bridie (Uk), Teresa (Dublin), his adored grandchildren Martin, Kevin, Stephen, Edel, Megan and Aaron, his cherished great-grandchildren Chloe and Conor, sister in-law Mary, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Pat will repose at the home of his son John and daughter in-law Deidre, Corleanmaddy, Doohamlet (A75DN88) tomorrow Tuesday from 4pm until 8pm and again on Wednesday from 4pm until 8pm. Removal on Thursday morning from the family home at 11:15am (proceeding on foot) to arrive at All Saints Church, Doohamlet for funeral mass at 12noon followed by burial in adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to All Saints Church Doohamlet, Restoration Fund C/o Wards Funeral Home or by donation box.

House private to family on Thursday morning only. Please note when attending the Doran family home (A75DN88) please approach from from Doohamlet Cross and exit at Leonard’s Cross as a one way system is in place

The death has occurred of Mickey Grew, 42 Oliver Plunkett Park, Drumillard, Castleblayney, Co.Monaghan, Sunday, April 24th, peacefully at his residence. Predeceased by his brothers Justin and Tony. Michael, deeply regretted and remembered with love by his partner Ann,extended family, neighbours and friends.

Mickey's funeral cortège will travel from his residence (driving) on Wednesday morning at 10:40am to arrive at St. Mary’s Church, Castleblayney, for funeral Mass at 11am, followed by private cremation in Lakelands Crematorium Cavan. House strictly private, please.
