It is with regret that we note the following deaths in Cavan and Monaghan over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Willie Mimnagh

Moynehall, Cavan / Drumlish, Longford

Willie Mimnagh, Moynehall, Cavan and formerly Clonellan, Drumlish, Co. Longford. Wednesday, May 4th 2022, peacefully. Beloved husband and best friend of the late Mary. Predeceased by his brothers Tommy and Peter. Devoted father of Néill, Deirdre, Bríd, Eilís and Liam Óg. Willie will be very sadly missed by his loving family, sons in law Fergal and Eoghan, daughter in law Amanda, his adored grandchildren, Clodagh, Fionn, Conall, Seán, Ciarán and Luan, brother in law Tom, sisters in law Patricia and Carole, nephews, nieces, all his relatives, neighbours, friends and all the staff at Castlemanor Nursing Home.

May he Rest In Peace.

Reposing at his home in Moynehall on Friday from 4pm until 8pm. House private at all other times please. Removal on Saturday at 1pm (via Tractamotors junction) to St. Brigid's Church , Killygarry arriving for Funeral Mass at 1.30pm. Burial will take place after mass in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery.

Sr. Mary O'Connor

Missionary Sisters Of The Holy Rosary, Cavan / Ballingarry (SR), Tipperary

The death has occurred of Sr.Mary O Connor , Missionary Sisters of The Holy Rosary, Cavan and formerly of Ballingarry, Co. Tipperary. On mission in Sierra Leone, Texas USA and Ireland. May 4th 2022 , peacefully in the loving care of the staff at College View Nursing Home, Cavan, in her 100th year. Predeceased by her parents Edward and Ellen O Connor, her brothers Tom and Frank and sister in law Kitty.Sr. Mary will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, grandnieces , grandnephews, great grandnieces, great grandnephews, her extended family, The Missionary Sisters of the Holy Rosary, all her relatives and friends.

May she Rest In Peace.

Sr. Mary's Funeral Mass will be celebrated privately with family and the Holy Rosary Sisters in the Holy Rosary Convent Chapel, Cavan, on Friday, 6th of May, at 1.30pm, followed by burial in the Convent Plot at Cullies Burial ground. Sr.Mary's family and the Holy Rosary sisters would like to thank you for your understanding and cooperation at this sad time.

Fergus HICKEY

Donaghmede, Dublin / Carrickmacross, Monaghan

HICKEY, Fergus (late of Donaghmede, Dublin 13 & formerly of Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan) - May 3rd, 2022 (peacefully) after a long illness bravely borne with great dignity and courage at Carechoice Nursing Home, Malahide Road. Beloved uncle of the late Colin. Sadly missed by his loving sister Loretta, brother-in-law Peter, nephew Barry, Barry's wife Caroline, Fergus's grandnephews Cian and Dylan and his extended family and friends.

May He Rest In Peace.

Reposing at his sisters home in Grangemore on Thursday (May 5th) from 4 p.m. Removal on Friday (May 6th) morning to Church of the Holy Trinity, Donaghmede arriving for 10 a.m. Mass followed by burial in Fingal Cemetery. Gerard McCague

Drumshevera, Scotstown, Monaghan, H18 VP89

The death has occurred of Gerard McCague, Drumshevera, Scotstown, Co.Monaghan, H18 VP89. Wednesday 4th May peacefully at Cavan General Hospital.

Predeceased by his parents Eugene & Ann and baby brother Gerard. Lovingly remembered by his wife Anne. Gerard will be sadly missed by his brothers and sister; Sean & Margaret McCague (Castleblayney), Mary & Seamus Morrow (Smithboro) and Macartan & Deirdre McCague (Dublin), nieces, nephews, godchildren, extended family and friends.

May his gentle soul Rest in Peace

Gerard's remains will repose at his residence on Wednesday from 6pm to 9pm and Thursday from 3pm to 9pm. Funeral mass on Friday morning at 11am at St.Mary's Church, Urbleshanny. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family time Friday morning please.
