Ballyconnell-Belturbet road to close for resurfacing

Works begin next week.

The main road linking Ballyconnell and Belturbet is to close for periods over the next three months.

Cavan County Council made the announcement in recent days.

The N87 will be closed at periods between the townlands of Cranaghan and Mullaghduff from 9.15am to 6pm between Monday, May 16 and Friday, August 22.

Resurfacing works are to take place during the closures and diversions will be in place.

Alternative routes:

Traffic from Ballyconnell will be diverted along the R205, B127 (Northern Ireland), A509 (Northern Ireland) and the N3.

Traffic from Belturbet or the N3 (South of Staghall Roundabout) will be diverted along the N3, A509 (Northern Ireland), B127 (Northern Ireland) and the R205.

Cavan County Council says local traffic in the affected areas will be accommodated, as far as possible.
