Today's weather forecast

There will be warm weather this weekend with temperatures set to reach 20 degrees on Sunday, and the promise of widespread sunny spells.

Any lingering mist and fog patches will quickly clear this morning to leave a dry day in most areas with sunny spells developing by afternoon and just the odd stray shower occurring. Mild with highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees with light southwest or variable breezes.

Mostly dry with clear spells tonight though a few showers over the Irish Sea will move in over eastern and northeastern counties. Some mist and fog patches will develop in light breezes. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees.

Tomorrow will be mild with good sunny spells at first but becoming cloudier later in the afternoon and evening. Largely dry too with just a few showers at times. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees generally but light to moderate easterly breezes will keep it a little cooler near exposed coasts. Towards nightfall, showery rain will move into southern areas.
