It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Brigid Dalton (née Clarke)

Lispopple, Coole, Westmeath

Formerly of Corodoagh, Tunnyduff, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan

Brigid died on June 1st 2022, peacefully at Mullingar, Midlands Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her granddaughter Rebecca and her brother Owen.

Brigid will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her loving husband James, daughter Jacqueline, sons John and Tony, son in-law Martin Farrell, daughter in-law Agnes Dalton. Brothers John and Phil, sisters Mary, Kitty and Bernadette, grandchildren Jason, Aoife and Amelia, brothers in-law, sisters in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family and a wide circle of friends.

May Brigid's gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Reposing at her residence tomorrow, Thursday, 2nd June, from 4 o'clock until 8 o'clock. Removal to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Coole, Friday, 3rd June, for 2.30pm funeral mass, burial afterwards to Mayne Cemetery, Coole.

The family would like to thank Dr. Pat Cullen & all his staff for their continuous support and care of Brigid over the last number of years. Her Carer Jackie and all the carers who cared for Brigid, Medical 2 & Palliative Care staff at Mullingar Midlands Regional Hospital. To everyone who helped and supported Brigid and the family over the years.

Kathleen Murray (née Argue)

Tandragee, Kells Road, Bailieborough, Cavan

Kathleen Murray (nee Argue) Tandragee, Kells Road, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan. Died 1st June 2022, peacefully at her residence after a short illness. Deeply regretted by her loving husband John, her loving children Michael (Aoife), Laura (Nicholas), Joe (Emma), Julie-Ann (Dwayne), Katie (Leon), Margaret (Abbey), Dawn (Connor), brother Matt Argue, grandchildren, sister-in-law Shirley, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours & friends.

May she rest in Peace.

Reposing at Clarke's Funeral Home Thursday evening from 5pm to 8pm. Removal from her residence Friday morning at 10.40am to arrive at St. Patrick's Church, Tierworker for funeral mass at 11am. Cremation afterwards in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan. No flowers please, donations in lieu, if desired, to Cavan/Monaghan Palliative Care care of any family member or funeral director.

House private please.

Mary Ellen O'Donovan

Kinsale, Cork / Gowna, Cavan

O'Donovan (Kinsale, late of Gowna, Co. Cavan) on June 1st 2022, surrounded by her loving family after an illness in Cork University Hospital. Mary Ellen (née O'Neill), beloved wife of the late Cornelius (Connie) O'Donovan and dear mother of Cornelius, Seumas and Maria.

Deeply regretted by her loving sons, daughter, grandson, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, nephews, nieces, godchildren, relatives and many dear friends.

Requiem Mass on Friday at 2pm in St. John the Baptist Church, Kinsale which will be livestreamed on www.churchservices.tv/kinsale, funeral afterwards to St. Eltin's Cemetery (Passing her old Shop in Pearse Street). House Private.

Gerald (Gerry) Lynch

Skeahorn, Clones, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Gerald (Gerry), Lynch, Skeahorn, Clones, Co. Monaghan. Peacefully, at Drumbear Lodge Nursing Home, Monaghan in the loving care of the staff. Gerry will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his, extended family, neighbours, and by all who knew and loved him.

May His Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Gerry will repose at the Martin's Family Room, Newbliss, on Monday afternoon, 6th June, from 2pm to 4pm and again Tuesday evening, 7th June, from 5pm to 8pm with removal on Wednesday morning at 10.40am to St Laobhin's Chapel, Killeevan for 11am Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in adjoining Cemetery.
