Cavan face Sligo in Tailteann Cup semi

Victory in Enniskillen on Sunday made it win number 10 for the season for the Breffni blues.

Cavan have been drawn against Sligo in the semi-finals of the Tailteann Cup.

In the other tie, an all-Leinster affair, Offaly will take on neighbours Westmeath.

Both games will take place at Croke Park on the weekend after next, June 19.

Cavan earned their place in the final four berth by beating Ulster rivals Fermanagh on Sunday at Brewster Park.

Victory in Enniskillen on Sunday made it win number 10 for the season, the game ending Cavan 2-16 to Fermanagh 0-13.

Key to Cavan’s win were Thomas Galligan and Gearoid McKiernan, who landed 1-9 between them in two excellent displays.

The Breffni County went into the Tailteann Cup preordained favourites in the eyes of the bookmakers and thus far have lived up to that billing with a series of comfortable wins against otherwise tricky competition.

The game against Sligo will be shown live on RTÉ 2.
