Gavin Mackey, Chairman of Bailieborough Shamrocks GAA wishes all entrants to their ‘Win a Dublin City Apartment’ draw, taking place July 11, the best of luck.

Win a Dublin apartment worth €250K

The current chairman of Bailieborough Shamrocks, Gavin Mackey, is hopeful the ongoing refurbishment of club facilities will be complete in time to host the draw for the club's landmark fundraiser.

Offering punters the chance to win a stunning Dublin apartment worth €250,000, the winning ticket is set to be pulled on Monday, July 11.

"We're into the last six weeks of it now. So we're looking to give it one final push."

Almost 6,000 have entered the raffle to date, and Gavin says entries for the €100 a pop draw have come in from across Ireland and even further afield.

"We'd be very hopeful to be able to have the draw here upstairs at the newly-refurbished clubrooms. It would be a great showcase, to be able to let people see everything we've done, how it has all come full circle. It's a massive boost for the club."

All funds raised from the draw - for a one Bedroom apartment located in Jervis Place, in Dublin City Centre, right next to Trinity College - go towards fitting out the Shamrock's new state-of-the-art clubhouse facility.

The final stage of those works includes installing the upstairs interior with new flooring and other improvements.

The club opened its 3G pitch and has also invested in developing a walking track. The next step is to tarmac that walkway to make it accessible for all, and to install a play area too. The final step will see the installation of floodlights on the main pitch.

Gavin is keen to stress that the facilities are for "all the community to use".

He estimates the Shamrocks have invested close to €2 million, and adds that what is taken place is a "legacy" of dedication to Bailieborough.

"There are people who have come before who started this whole process. We're only caretakers for the present, and we're confident there will be people here after us, with the same commitment, the same level of dedication, and a love for this club and this town that can carry this on."
