Major extension approved for Bailieborough school

Minister for Education Norma Foley signed off on the project which was welcomed locally.

The Department of Education have now issued the initial project approval to St. Anne's National School Bailieborough in respect of a major proposed extension to current facilities.

Confirmation of the approval was received earlier today, Friday, July 1.

The proposed extension will include an additional six new mainstream classrooms, one Special Education Teaching Room and three Special Education Needs Room.

Cavan-Monaghan Fianna Fail TD, Brendan Smith stated: “I welcome this approval by Minister Norma Foley - TD and I compliment the Principal, Paul Corcoran and his staff, the Board of Management and the Parents’ Association on their work in bringing this project to this stage.”

Fine Gael Minister Health Humphreys also welcomed the progress made, describing the investment as a set to make a “huge difference”.

“This is a massive investment in St Anne’s and will make a huge difference for the school community. I want to congratulate all the team at the school for working so well with the Department of Education in securing this decision.”
