It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Rose Brady (née Owens)

48 Holborn Hill, Belturbet, Cavan

Rose Brady, 48 Holborn Hill, Belturbet, Co. Cavan, Wednesday 27th July 2022. Peacefully in the loving care of Breffni Care Centre in her 98th year. Predeceased by her husbands Patrick Boles and Terry Brady. Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by her daughter Marion, sons Sean, Martin (Kilkenny) and Tony (Dublin), daughters-in-law, her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Rose's remains will be reposing at the residence of her daughter Marion in Naughan, Belturbet (H14 KF90) from 6pm this evening Wednesday until 8pm and tomorrow Thursday from 4pm until 8pm with removal of her remains on Friday morning at 11.30am to arrive at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Belturbet, for 12 noon Funeral Mass with burial afterward in Drumalee Cemetery.

Barbara Carolan (née Doughty)

London and late of Cormeen, Stradone, Cavan

Passed away, peacefully in London. Wife of the late Philip Carolan, Threecavanagh, Tunnyduff Cross, Bailieboro, Co. Cavan. Deeply regretted by her loving son Gary (Exeter), brothers John (London), Benny and Pat (Cormeen, Stradone), sister Bridget (Canada), sister-in-law Kitty, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Lakeland's Funeral Home, on Friday from 6pm concluding with prayers at 7pm (no hand shaking please). Removal on Saturday, to arrive at St. Brigid's Church, Knockbride West for Funeral Mass at 11am, burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Tom Elvin

Dernaferst, Loch Gowna, Cavan, H12 X672

Elvin Tom, Dernaferst, Loch Gowna, Co. Cavan, Tuesday, 26th July, peacefully in the loving care of his family at his residence. Deeply regretted by his beloved wife of 65 years Christine, his daughter Michelle, son-in-law Noel, son David, daughter-in-law Sue, son Dean and daughter-in-law Paula. Also sadly missed by his sister Barbara, his grandchildren; Michael and Hayley, great-grandchildren and great-great-granddaughter.

Reposing at the home of his daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Noel in Dernaferst (H12X672) from 4pm to 8pm on Thursday evening. Tom's Humanist ceremony will take place in Lakelands Funeral Home and crematorium, Cavan (H12RF78) on Friday, 29th July, at 12.30pm followed by cremation.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

Mary McGoldrick (née McHugh)

Lannanaria, Corlough & Barrack Hill, Belturbet, Cavan

Peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital, 26th July 2022.

Predeceased by her husband Frank, she will be sadly missed by her daughter Kathleen, her sons Patsy, Peter & Freddie her brother Michael (Birmingham), grandchildren, nephews & nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Smith’s funeral home, High Street, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim (N41 TD62) on Friday (29th July) from 6pm until 8.30pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday in Church of the Immaculate Conception, Belturbet, at 12 noon followed by burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Corlough, at 2pm approx.

Eileen McCormack (née O'Sullivan)

Kednaminsha, Inniskeen, Monaghan / Omeath, Louth / Lispole, Kerry

The death has occurred of Eileen McCormack peacefully in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, surrounded by her loving family.
