It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Thomas McGovern

Corratillon, Corlough, Cavan / Knocklyon, Dublin

Peacefully at the Mater Private Hospital, 25th July 2022.

He will be sadly missed by his brothers Philip, Aiden & Martin, his sister Mary, friend Olga, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews & nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Smith’s Funeral Home, High Street, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim on Wednesday (27th July) from 6pm until 8pm.Walk through only. (At the request of the family, please refrain from shaking hands). Funeral Mass on Thursday in St. Patrick’s Church, Corlough at 12 noon followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Funeral Mass may be viewed on the Corlough Templeport Facebook page and will be available on Parish Radio FM108.

John Joe O'Reilly

Portmarnock, Dublin / Cavan

O’Reilly, John Joe, Portmarnock and formerly Tedeehan, County Cavan and late of An Garda Síochána. Died peacefully on 26th July 2022, surrounded by his loving family and in the wonderful care of all the staff of Talbot Lodge Nursing home, Malahide. Beloved husband of Kitty. Very dearly missed by his sons Declan and Ronan, daughters-in-law Angie and Lorraine, grandchildren Callum, Charlotte, Alex and Ava, brother Fay, brother in law Eamon McKiernan, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Also remembering his late sister Eithne and brothers Brian and Dan.

May He Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Staffords Funeral Home, Golf Links Road, Portmarnock on Thursday, 28th July, from 2pm to 4pm. Removal to St. Anne’s Church, Portmarnock on Friday morning, arriving for 10am Funeral Mass, followed by burial in Balgriffin Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to the Alzheimer Society of Ireland. House private Thursday evening for immediate family.

John Keenan

Manchester and formerly Coretard, Threemilehouse, Monaghan

The untimely death has occurred of John Keenan, Monday, 18th July, 73 Polefield Rd, Blackley, Manchester surrounded by his adored family, formerly Coretard, Threemilehouse, Co. Monaghan. Predeceased by his father Peter, his mother Mary Kate, his brother James Hughes, his father- in-law Charlie Treanor, & mother-in-law Susan Treanor (Smithborough), and most recently his only sister Margaret Mc Cague.

John will be forever missed by his wife Angela, daughter Karen (Damien) sons John (Annie), Gary (Charlotte) & Daniel, his cherished grandchildren Cara, Callum, Teddy & Charlie. his brother Pete, his sister- in-law Reene Hughes, brothers-in-law Jim Mc Cague, Francie, Cathal, Brendan, Gerard, & Paul Treanor, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, neighbours, friends and entire family circle.

John's funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, the 02nd August, at 12:30pm in St John's Bosco Church,197 Charlestown Road, Manchester, England (M9 7BD) with burial at 3pm at Mill Lane Cemetery, Manchester Rd., Cheadle, Manchester, England (SK8 2PX).

John's family wish to thank you for all the support & kindness they have received during this difficult time, both from England & Ireland and would like to extend an invitation for everyone to join them afterwards to the International suite, Old Trafford football grounds, Manchester.
