Mattie Cahill

Copponagh, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan

Died 27 July 2022, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by his loving family following an illness bravely borne. Predeceased by his parents Michael & Anna, brothers Patrick and Michael. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Rose, sons Matthew and Declan, daughter Rosaleen, daughters-in-law Orla and Lorraine, sister Anne, brother Peter, grandchildren Lauren, Chloe, Rian, Michael and Aidan, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Clarke's Funeral Home, Bailieborough Friday from 5pm to 8pm and Saturday 6pm to 8pm. Funeral to arrive at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kingscourt Monday for Funeral Mass at 10 am with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Funeral Mass can be viewed live on www.kingscourtparish.ie/watch-live. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to Bailieborough Cancer Fund c/o any family member or undertaker.

Mary Calvey neé Sheridan

The Elms, Westport, Co. Mayo & formerly Quilca, Virginia, Co. Cavan

July 26th 2022. Predeceased by her husband John and son Patrick. Sadly missed by her loving sons Sean and Peter, daughters Noreen, Maria, Eileen, Sheila, Angela and Rosaleen, sister Nelllie, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Helen, sons-in-law Anthony, Eamon, Declan, John and Johnny, relatives and friends.

Mary will be reposing at the residence of her son Peter, No 8 Church Fields, Balla (F23RK74) on Friday, 29th July, from 7pm to 9pm. Funeral arriving St. Mary's Church, Westport on Saturday, 30th July, at 10.30am for Funeral Mass at 11am. Mass will be live streamed on www.churchtv.ie/westport. Burial afterwards in Aughaval Cemetery. Anyone wishing to leave a message of sympathy for the family can do so by clicking on the condolence link below. Main Street, Killeshandra, Co. Cavan

28th July 2022 peacefully at Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by her brother Jim sister Pat, mother Annie, father Joseph. Very Sadly missed by her brother Joe, sister-in-law Mary, nieces Joanne and Maeve, nephew Justin, Joanne’s husband Chris and Maeve’s husband Mark, much loved grand-nephews Ryan, Max, Eóin and James, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Lawlor’s Funeral Home, Ernehill, Belturbet, (H14 R583) on Friday evening, 29th July, from 5pm to 8pm. Removal from her residence on Saturday morning at 11.30am to arrive at St. Brigid’s Church, Killeshandra for Funeral Mass at 12 noon followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

Michael Moran (Mick)

Retired Garda Siochana, Knockatee, Ballyhaise, Co Cavan and formerly Muckersaune, The Neale, Co Mayo

Died on Wednesday, 27th July, peacefully, at The Mater Private Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his mother Mary. Deeply missed by his heartbroken wife and best friend Mairead, his devoted and loving children, daughter Arlene, sons Jarlath and Aidan, son in law Brian, daughters in law Laura and Deirdre, darling grandchildren Katie & Rose, his father Walter and his wife Bridgie, his brother Joe (Florida), sisters: Marie (Castlebar) and Annette (Manulla), aunt Bridget (Headford), his brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews, many friends, relatives and neighbours.

Reposing at his home, Ballyhaise (H12FP64) on Friday, 29th July (4pm-8pm) and funeral Mass on Saturday, 30th July, St Mary's Church, Ballyhaise, at 12 noon. Burial afterwards at Castletara Cemetery. Family flowers only, please.

Eileen Hanawin nee Gormley

27 St Patricks Street Ballybay Co. Monaghan and formerly of Cortubber, Ballybay and Dundalk Co. Louth.

Thursday 28th July, peacefully in the loving care of the doctors and nursing staff of our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda. Pre deceased by her loving husband Phil, sisters Kathleen, Nora, and Monica, brothers Dan, Bro. David, John, Gerard, and Liam. Deeply regretted by her loving brothers Brian (Blackrock), Michael (Trim), Leo (Dundalk) and Kevin (Dublin), nieces, nephews, gran nieces, gran nephews, friends and wonderful neighbours.

Eileen's funeral mass will be celebrated in St patricks Church, Ballybay on Saturday 30th July at 2pm. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Joan Martin (née Black)

Castleknock, Dublin 15 and Clones, Co. Monaghan

July 27th, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Dearly beloved wife of Frank, mother of Frank (Jnr), Mary, Brian, Jane and John; sister to Ann, Gerard and the late Richard. Joan will be sadly missed by her family, 16 grandchildren, sons and daughters in-law, all her relations and wide circle of friends.

Reposing at home on Friday evening (July 29th) between 4 pm and 8 pm. Removal on Saturday morning (July 30th) to The Church of Our Lady Mother of the Church, Castleknock arriving for Funeral Mass at 11 am followed by burial in Mount St. Oliver’s Cemetery, Clones, Co. Eileen McCormack (nee O’Sullivan)

Late of St Francis Nursing Home, Mount Oliver, Dundalk.

Peacefully in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda surrounded by her loving family. Native of Kinard, Lispole, Co. Kerry.

Beloved wife of the late Dr. John McCormack. Cherished mother of Mary Fitzsimons (Portrane), James (Kentstown), Helena Lyons, (Clonsilla), Teresa Fitzsimons (Inniskeen), Bernadette Muckian, (Silverbridge) and Seán Abergele (Wales).

Much loved sister of Mathias. Sadly missed by her sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

Reposing in her daughter Teresa’s Home, Kédnaminsha, Inniskeen A91 XR62 from 6pm to 9pm Thursday, 28th of July, and Friday, 29th of July, from 10am, until removal at 6.30pm to the church of Mary Mother of Mercy, Inniskeen. Requiem mass Saturday, 30th July, at 11am, burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Inniskeen.

Cashlan East, Lisdoonan, Carrickmacross

27th July 2022. Peacefully, surrounded by his beloved family, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Predeceased by his parents Packie & Kathleen, his granddaughter baby Grace, his sister Bridget & his brother John.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by his cherished family, his wife Mary, his sons Noel, Patrick, Fergal, Damien, Colm, Darren & Ciarán, his daughters Sheena (Meegan), Karen & Sinéad (Carville), daughters-in-law Fiona, Caroline, Jane, Fiona & Kerrie, sons-in-law Tom, Fintan & Aidan, his adored twenty nine grandchildren, his brothers Frank, Peter, Brian & Anthony, his sisters Hannah, Frances, Bernie, Catherine, Mary, Eileen & Angela, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours & friends.

Patsy will repose at his home, Cashlan East, Lisdoonan, A81 T207, on Friday, 29th July, from 12noon until 9pm. Patsy's funeral cortège will leave his home on Saturday, 30th July, proceeding on foot to St. Mary's Church, Lisdoonan, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining new Cemetery.
