Cavan claims first medals at All-Ireland Fleadh

Cavan competitors are off to a great start at this year's All-Ireland Fleadh in Mullingar, claiming a number of dancing medals in competitions today.

The bulk of the competitions - in music, singing, lilting, whistling and storytelling - get underway tomorrow and continue into Sunday evening.

First and second placed musicians at the recent Ulster Fleadh 2022 will compete in Mullingar this weekend.

Tens of thousands have already attended the Westmeath county town where there has been a lively atmosphere on the streets and at various venues throughout this past week.

Cavan musicians and singers have performed on the NMCU Gig Rig and also being recorded for Fleadh TV.

Check out these performances by Cavan Town CCÉ.

For those who can’t make it this weekend, TG4 will be ‘Fleadh Cheoil Central’ broadcasting three live shows on August 5, 6 and 7, full of the very best of Irish song, music, and dance.
