It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Patrick (Paddy) Bradley

Finglas, Dublin / Ballyjamesduff, Cavan

Former Member of Óglaigh na hÉireann The Irish Defence Forces and late of The Oireachtas. Ballyjamesduff, County Cavan Peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Phyllis and loving father of Patrick, Linda, Noel, Thomas and Barry. Paddy will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, daughters-in-law Imelda, Rachel, Lorraine and Terri, sister-in-law Ann brother-in-law Pat Mulvey, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, friends and all who knew and loved him.

May He Rest In Peace.

Reposing at his home this Thursday the 11th between 4pm and 7pm. Removal on Friday morning to Saint Canice’s Church, Finglas Village, arriving for 11.30am Funeral Mass. Thereafter to Glasnevin Cemetery for burial.

Margaret Burns

Cottage 1, The Green, Stradbally, Laois, R32 XA66 / Killeshandra, Cavan

Margaret Burns, Cottage 1, The Green, Stradbally, Co. Laois and formerly of Killegoan, Killeshandra, Co. Cavan, Wednesday 10th August 2022, peacefully in the wonderful care of the nurses and staff of the Muiríosa Foundation.

Very deeply regretted by her brothers and sisters Pat, Owen, John, Stephen, Kitty, Ann, Sheila and Marie, uncle Stephen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and relatives and friends and her very good friends in Stradbally and Monasterevin.

May She Rest in Peace.

Margaret will repose in Cottage 1, Stradbally, Co. Laois (R32 XA66) on Thursday 11th August, from 3pm to 5pm. Funeral Mass on Friday 12th August in St Brigid's Church, Killeshandra at 12pm followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired to the Muiríosa Foundation.

Andy Cullen

Ballytrust, Loughduff, Cavan

Andy died peacefully at The General Hospital, Cavan surrounded by his family on Tuesday 9th August 2022. Predeceased by his wife Doreen daughter Ciara and sister Rita.

Sadly missed by his children Malachy, Kieran, Aodhagan, Jacinta and Emmet, sisters Mary B. Coggins, Kathy Donohoe, and Rosaleen Molloy, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing in Reilly's Funeral Home, Kilcogy (N39W1D6) on Thursday from 6 pm with prayers at 8 p.m. Removal on Friday morning from the funeral home arriving St. Joseph's Church Loughduff for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Internment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Funeral cortège will travel via his home in Ballytrust, Corduff Cross, and Middletown Cross for anyone who wishes to stand along the route as a mark of respect.

John Martin

The Drumlins, Virginia, Cavan / Artane, Dublin

The death has occurred of John Martin (The Drumlins, Virginia, Co. Cavan & formerly of Artane, Dublin) August 9th, 2022, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital. Husband of Una, loving father to John & Olive, predeceased by his beloved daughter Mairead. Sadly missed by his sisters Imelda & Lily, son in law David, grandchildren Sean, Olivier, Aimee and Stephen, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at O'Dwyer's Funeral Home, Ryefield, Virginia, Co. Cavan (A82 C2N6) on Friday 12th August from 12 noon to 1pm with removal to Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan for Cremation at 2pm.

Pete Courtney

Dowdstown, Ardee, Louth / Inniskeen, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Peter (Pete) Courtney on Saturday 6th August 2022, at Beaumont Hospital, following an accident.

Pete is predeceased by his brother John. Loving husband of Eva, father of David, Martin, Ciaran and Louise. Pete will be forever missed by his family, his daughters-in-law Patricia, Siobhan and Joan, son-in-law Devin, his much-loved grandchildren Grace, Conal, Evan, Shane, Rhea and Keelin, his brothers Brendan, Hughie, Gerard and Martin, his sisters Mary, Kitty and Rose, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives and many friends.

May Pete Rest in Peace.

Pete will repose at his home on Friday (12th) from 12 noon to 8pm. House Private on Saturday Morning Please. Removal on Saturday morning (13th) at 9:30am driving to the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, Ardee, arriving for 10am Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in Ballapousta Cemetery.
