It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Bridie Farrelly

Cornacrave, Ballyjamesduff and formerly Clonkeefy, Ballyjamesduff

Peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital on 19th August 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her parents,​ Pee and Ellen, brothers Mikey, Patrick​ and Noel and her sisters Mae and Evelyn. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Jim and her heartbroken children Ealma, Elaine, Antoinette, Paul and Damien. Bridie will be sadly missed by her husband and children, her sons in law Packie, Declan and Ruairí, her daughters​ in​ law Louise and Tina, her cherished and adored grandchildren JP, Maisie, Philip, Shannah, Shay, Grace, Enda, Gemma, Tomás, James, Ella- Mae, Evan and Ronan, her brothers Pee and Jamesy (Boston) and John (Clonkeefy),​ her sisters Maggie Howlin (Wexford) and Anne Caffrey (Mountnugent), nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Remains reposing at Matthews Funeral Home on Sunday from 5 o'clock until prayers at 8 o'clock. Walk through only please.

Removal on Monday arriving to St. Mary’s Church Castlerahan for 12 o'clock Funeral Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

House private please.

Baby Faith Flynn

Ard na Greine, Kells, Co. Meath and Ryefield, Virginia, Co. Cavan

Born an angel, Friday 19th August 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Predeceased by her grandad John Flynn. Forever loved and sadly missed by her heartbroken parents Johnny and Kerry and loving siblings Chloe, Ruby, Thomas and Luke, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins and the entire family circle.

A private family ceremony and burial in St Bartholomew's Cemetery, Munterconnaught has taken place.

Maureen McLaughlin (née Higgins)

Cavan Road, Ballinagh, Cavan

Maureen passed away on Friday 19th August, peacefully, at her home, surrounded by her loving husband and family. Sadly and dearly missed by her beloved husband Tony, sons and daughters, Regina, Catriona, John, Gerard and Padraig, son in law Laurence, daughters in law Rosie, Lucinda and Stephanie, her cherished grandchildren Aaron, Conor, Lauren, Ryan, Jonathan, Caolán, Eleanor & Sadbh her brother Joe, sister Bridie, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and wide circle of friends and neighbours.

Reposing at her home on Saturday from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm and tomorrow Sunday from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm.House private to family and friends at all other times. In the interest of keeping everybody safe from Covid 19 this will be walk through only please.

Funeral Mass Monday 22nd at 12 noon in St. Felim's Church, Ballinagh, followed by burial in the New Cemetery, Ballinagh. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired to Palliative Care, Cavan, care of any family member.

Peter (Pearce) McMahon

Greaghcrotta, Mountain Lodge, Cootehill, Cavan

Peacefully at Castlemanor Nursing Home. Predeceased by his parents and sister Nancy. Sadly missed by his loving brothers Packie Tom (Tullyco) and Kevin (England), sister Maisie O' Reilly (Knockateggart), brothers-in-law John and William, sister-in-law Marie, niece Geraldine McHugh (Kill), relatives and friends.

Reposing at Lakeland's Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan, tomorrow Sunday from 6pm, concluding with prayers at 7.30pm. Removal on Monday to arrive at St. Patrick's Church, Carrickallen, Mountain Lodge, for Funeral Mass at 12 noon, burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family homes private please. No shaking hands please, walk through only in church and funeral home.

Colm Woods

Bigstown, Ardee and formerly of Inniskeen and Dunshaughlin

19th August 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Predeceased by his parents Mary and Tim Woods and his sister Patricia. Sadly missed by his loving family, his wife Catherine (nee Callan), daughter Aisling, sons Tadhg, Aodhán and Cian, brother Willie, sister Teresa, granddaughter Emma, son-in-law Jeff, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his residence on Sunday from 3.00 pm to 8.00 pm. Removal on Monday morning at 10.30 am to St. Catherine's Church, Ballapousta arriving for Funeral Mass at 11.00 am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

House private on Monday morning for removal.
