It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Bridie Farrelly

Cornacrave, Ballyjamesduff and formerly Clonkeefy, Ballyjamesduff

Peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital on 19th August 2022, surrounded by her loving family.Predeceased by her parents,​ Pee and Ellen, brothers Mikey, Patrick​ and Noel and her sisters Mae and Evelyn. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Jim and her heartbroken children Ealma, Elaine, Antoinette, Paul and Damien. Bridie will be sadly missed by her husband and children, her sons in law Packie, Declan and Ruairí, her daughters​ in​ law Louise and Tina, her cherished and adored grandchildren JP, Maisie, Philip, Shannah, Shay, Grace,Enda, Gemma, Tomás, James, Ella- Mae, Evan and Ronan, her brothers Pee and Jamesy (Boston) and John (Clonkeefy),​ her sisters Maggie Howlin (Wexford) and Anne Caffrey (Mountnugent), nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Cavan Road, Ballinagh, peacefully, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Sadly and dearly missed by her loving husband Tony, sons and daughters, Regina, Catriona, John, Gerard and Padraig, son in law Laurence, daughters in law Rosie, Lucinda and Stephanie, her cherished grandchildren Aaron, Conor, Lauren, Ryan, Jonathan, Caolán, Eleanor & Sadbh her brother Joe, sister Bridie, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Maureen's remains will repose at her home, house is private for friends & family only on Saturday 20th from 6pm, until prayers at 8pm, Sunday 21st, from 5pm until prayers at 7pm. The family respectfully request walk through only with no hand shaking, please. Funeral Mass Monday 22nd at 12 noon in St Felim's Church, Ballinagh, followed by burial in the New Cemetery, Ballinagh. Family flowers only please, donations, in lieu, to Palliative Care or any family member.

Teresa Murphy (Neé Gallagher)

Stoney Park, Carcur, Wexford and formerly Ballinavary, Davidstown, Enniscorthy and Glaslough, Co. Monaghan

Beloved wife of the late Martin, mother of John, Gerard and Jennifer and sister of Hughie, Maureen, Josie, Rose, Dolores and the late Gretta and Eddie. Sadly missed by her loving sons, daughter, brother, sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Browne’s Funeral Home, Enniscorthy on Sunday from 3 o’ clock to 6 o’ clock. Funeral arriving at Davidstown Parish Church on Monday morning for Funeral Mass at 11 o’ clock with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to St. Brigid’s Daycare Centre, Wexford.

Thomas (Tommy) Murtagh

Tullyrain, Shantonagh, Castlebayney

19th August 2022, aged 91 years. Peacefully, surrounded by his beloved family, in the wonderful care of the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Predeceased by his infant daughter, his parents Thomas & Margaret, his brothers Larry (Australia), Leo (London), Pat (Athlone) & Micheal (Kildare).

Sadly missed and remembered with love by his cherished family, his beloved wife Margaret, his daughter Maria and his sons Gerry, Tom, Jake, Paddy, Charlie & Michael, his daughters-in-law Nadia, Rosie, Denise, Bernie, Yvonne, Patricia & Hilary, his adored twenty three grandchildren, his brother Noel (Chicago) and his sisters Kathleen & Sr. Bernadette (Carrickmacross), his brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends & neighbours.

Tommy will repose at his home, Tullyrain, Shantonagh, A75 WE08, on Saturday, 21st & Sunday, 22nd August, from 3pm until 8pm. Tommy's funeral cortège will leave his home on Monday, 22nd August, proceeding to the Sacred Heart Church, Lough Egish, for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining Cemetery.
