It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Vivie (Mary) Johnston (née Murray)

28 Creighan Drive, Cavan Town, Cavan

Vivie (Mary) Johnston (nee Murray) 28 Creighan Drive, Cavan Town. Beloved and much loved wife and best friend of Pat Johnston and daughter of the late John and Anne Murray. Tullacmongan, Cavan. September 4th 2022, peacefully in the loving care of her family and all who cared for Vivie in College View Nursing Home, Cavan. Vivie will be very sadly missed by her loving and caring husband Pat, brother Martin and his wife Ann, sister Margaret and her husband Liam, brothers in law Mark, Joe, Damien, John, Thomas and sisters in law Rita and Marie, nephews, nieces, all her relatives, neighbours in Creighan Drive and many friends.

May she rest in peace.

Vivie will repose at her home in Creighan Drive tomorrow (Monday) from 4pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. House will remain private at all other times please. Removal on Tuesday morning at 10.30 to St. Brigid’s Church, Killygarry arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am, via Tractamotors Junction. Burial following Mass in the Family plot in the adjoining cemetery. As Covid 19 is still with us we would ask that people attending remain careful and look after each other and the family. You are requested to leave your messages and condolences in the section at the bottom of this page please.

The family would like to thank each of you for your co-operation, understanding and support at this difficult time.

Mary McTague (Scanlon)

Corracanvy, Farnham, Cavan / Crossmolina, Mayo

Mary McTague (Scanlon), Corracanvy, Cavan and formerly Crossmolina, Co Mayo. Saturday September 3rd peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Esker Lodge Nursing home, Cavan surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Hugh and Margaret. Sadly missed by her loving husband Evan, brothers Hugh and Sean, brothers in law, cousins, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home and Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan, on Tuesday evening from 4.00pm to 7.00pm, followed by cremation service.

Interment of ashes on Wednesday at 1.00pm in Drumlion Cemetery, Carrick-On-Shannon

House private, please.

Mary Donaghey (née McNally)

Ballylin, Ramelton, Donegal / Inniskeen, Monaghan

Peacefully, at The Donegal Hospice Letterkenny.

Loving wife to the late Aidan Donaghey, much loved Mother to John, Adrian, Caroline and Darren and daughter-in-law Eilís. Devoted grandmother to Molly. Deeply regretted by her sisters Margaret Fox and Rose Burke, her wide family circle and friends.

May she rest in peace.

Mary’s remains will repose at her late residence from 6pm on Sunday 4th September. Removal from there at 10.20 am on Tuesday 6th going to St. Mary’s Church, Ramelton, for 11am Requiem Mass. Burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Rosary at 9pm both nights. Family time please from 10pm to 10am and on the morning of the funeral.
