Cannabis worth €20K discovered by gardaí

Large volume of speed also seized

Drugs with a street value of over €20K were seized as gardaí swooped on a house in Ballyhaise yesterday.

On Thursday, September 15, as part of Operation Tara, Gardai from the the Cavan/Monaghan Divisional Drugs Unit searched a house under warrant in the Ballyhaise area.

They were assisted by uniform members and the Garda Dog Unit. During the course of this search, a large quantity of cannabis (€20,000) and quantity of speed (€2,400) was discovered.

One male in his 20s was arrested and was subsequently interviewed at Cavan Garda Station. This male has been charged with offences in relation to the sale and supply of controlled drugs.
