Met Éireann are forecasting: "Heavy rain on Wednesday and Wednesday night, with the possibility of thundery downpours, will lead to localised flooding and some disruption."

Outbreaks of heavy or thundery rain this morning moving northwards leading to localised flooding. A dry spell will develop in many areas although rain will linger in parts of the north and east into the afternoon. Further falls of heavy or thundery rain will move up across the country from the south through the evening and early night. Very breezy and blustery with fresh to strong and gusty easterly winds. Highs of 11 to 15 degrees.

Further outbreaks of heavy rain with possible thunderstorms will track northwards across the country tonight that may lead to localised flooding. Drier conditions with clear spells and isolated showers will follow from the south later. Fresh to strong southeasterly winds will ease somewhat overnight. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees.

Thursday morning will be largely dry and partly cloudy with some bright spells. A chance of isolated showers. Rain will develop in the southwest and south through the afternoon and evening. Moderate southeast winds will increase fresh to strong in the southwest. Highest temperatures of 15 to 17 degrees.

Friday is forecast to be a mostly cloudy day with spells of rain, turning heavy at times. Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds will largely ease later. Highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees.

Rain continuing in Connacht and Ulster on Friday night, becoming dry and mostly clear elsewhere. Southwest winds will generally be light to moderate, stronger in Atlantic coastal areas. Lows of 6 to 9 degrees, milder in the north and west.

Rain in northwestern areas on Saturday will gradually clear through the day. Most areas will have good dry and bright spells. Southerly winds will be mostly light, breezier for a time in the northwest. Highs of 14 to 17 degrees. Showers will develop in the south later in the afternoon. Rain will spread northwards overnight.

Currently Sunday looks to be turning wet again with rain in most places. Light southwest winds. Highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees.
