Another mild day but outbreaks of drizzle, winds easing

Weather update from Met Éireann

Very mild for the time of year. Blustery this morning with strong and gusty southerly winds. Largely cloudy with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle, most frequent over the western half of the country during the morning, and over the eastern half during the afternoon and evening. Winds will ease southwesterly through the afternoon and sunny spells will develop in Connacht and west Ulster. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees.

Largely dull, cloudy and misty tonight with further scattered outbreaks of rain, becoming drier in the east and northeast by morning. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 13 degrees, coolest in the northwest early in the night. Winds will be mostly light to moderate southerly, fresher at times along southern and eastern coasts.

Continuing dull and misty tomorrow morning with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Becoming dry for most through the afternoon and evening with hazy sunny spells developing. Highest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees in moderate, occasionally fresh, southeast winds.

Saturday is expected generally dry and cloudy with just isolated patches of rain. By morning, however, more persistent outbreaks of rain will start pushing in to the west and southwest. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees in moderate southeasterly winds.

Outbreaks of rain will spread across Munster and Connacht through the morning and afternoon on Sunday, turning heavy in places. The rain will then extend into Leinster and Ulster in the evening. There will also be decent bright spells during the day, especially in the eastern half of the country. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees in light to moderate southeasterly winds.

Sunday night will start off cloudy with outbreaks of rain in many areas. Through the night it will gradually become clearer with the rain becoming confined to the northeast by morning. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 9 degrees in light southerly winds.

Staying unsettled into the early days of next week with further outbreaks of rain at times.

Rain will clear the northeast early on Monday, leaving dry and bright spells for most of the day. Later in the evening, however, heavy outbreaks of rain will start pushing in to the southwest. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in light to moderate south to southeast winds.

Mostly cloudy overnight on Monday with outbreaks of rain spreading across the country, heavy in places. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees. Southeasterly winds increasing fresh to strong at times.

Current projections show rain clearing to scattered showers on Tuesday. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in light to moderate southerly winds.

Further outlook: Considerable uncertainty remains for the further outlook. Early indications are that the unsettled conditions will continue through midweek with further spells of rain and blustery winds at times.
