A cold day with scattered showers ahead

Some brightness in the east, with cloud building from the west and outbreaks of rain developing through the morning in the west, turning heavy at times, and extending eastwards to all parts by evening. Blustery with fresh to strong and gusty southerly winds developing, moderating westerly in the clearance from the rain. Highest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees.

Any lingering rain will clear the east tonight while scattered showers will extend over the western half of the country. Turning mostly dry and clear in the east. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees in a fresh and blustery west or southwest wind.

Bright and blustery on Sunday with sunshine and scattered showers, some heavy with hail, most frequent over the western half of the country. Highest temperatures generally ranging 6 to 10 degrees in a moderate to fresh westerly wind.
