Shop local this Christmas

A bright future is ahead for the town of Virginia says local Fine Gael Councillor, TP O’Reilly.

Works have been taking place throughout the town for the majority of 2022.

From the creation of the roundabout on the town square, the renovations on the local library and the installation of the new footpaths, Virginia has seen its fair share of disturbances this year.

“The library will be complete early next year,” says TP, excited to see what the new facility will bring to the town.

He was also optimistic that most of the roadworks in town will be completed by the end of 2022.

“It’s all on track, it was one or two months behind but we’re quite happy. A lot of the work should be finished by Christmas but some of the work will go into the new week. It’ll be good to see it eventually finished and tidied up, it’s moving along.

“While there has been a good bit of disruption in the town this year, we hope that next year we will start to see the improvements. All of it will come together once the work is finished.”

Concluding his updates, the councillor extended best wishes to everyone in the town and beyond for the festive season.

“I just want to wish all the businesses in the town the best of luck this Christmas and encourage everyone to shop as local as possible.”
