It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Robert McCrea

Campstown House, Cootehill, Cavan

Peacefully on Monday, 21st November 2022, at the Lisdarn Unit, Cavan Hospital, surrounded by his loving and devoted family.

House private please.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Ruth and sister Jean.

Robert will be dearly missed by his loving wife Thelma (Stephens), his children Naomi (Stanley Millen), Alison (Ken Forbes), James (Sara Wells) and Stephanie (David Hobson), his treasured grandchildren Ruthanne (Yann), Adam (Portia), Abigail (Tom), David, Anna, Seamus and Sadhbh, his great-grandchildren, the entire family circle and his many friends.

Resting at Mullen's Funeral Home, Cootehill, on Wednesday, from 5pm until 7pm. Removal from his home on Thursday, 24th November, at 1.30pm, for Funeral service in Cootehill Presbyterian Church, at 2pm. Interment afterwards in the adjoining Church yard.

Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Robert, if so desired to Drumlin House or Tearfund, (Cheques made payable to same) C/o Conly Funeral Directors, Ballybay, Co Monaghan or any family member.

Knockateggart, Stradone, Cavan

Peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital in his 95th year. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Maisie (nee McMahon), daughter Geraldine McHugh (Kill), son-in-law Martin, grandchildren Niall (Louise) and Gary, brother Terry, sisters Teresa (USA) and Lily (Dublin), brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Lakeland's Funeral Home, on Wednesday from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Removal on Thursday from his daughters home, travelling via Cootehill and Mountain Lodge, to arrive at St. Michael's Church, Clifferna, for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. House private to family, neighbours and friends.

Jimmy Carroll

Boyher, Rockcorry, Monaghan, H18 NP38

The death has occured of the late Jimmy Carroll, Boyher, Rockcorry, Co. Monaghan, Tuesday, 22nd November 2022, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by his parents Bernard and Mary, brother Bosco and sister Marian Sarah. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Elizabeth, daughters Karen and Sinead (Mossie) sons Seamus and Pauric, and partners, adored grandchildren Lauren, Josh, Alex and Sarah Jane, brothers Liam, Benny and Hughie, sisters Briege Lambe, Patricia Treanor and Monica Harding, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and a large circle of friends.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Remains will repose at his residence on Wednesday, 23rd November, 2022, from 3pm until 9pm, with walk through only, no shaking of hands, please. Removal on Thursday morning to St Mary's Church, Corravacan, Rockcorry, arriving for 11am funeral Mass. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Family flowers only, please.

Mary Murphy (née Markey)

Coolkill, Swanns Cross, Rockcorry, Monaghan, H18 XA66

The death has occurred of Mary Murphy (nee Markey), Coolkill, Swanns Cross, Co Monaghan and formerly of Cootehill Co. Cavan. Tuesday, 22nd November 2022, peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Castleross Nursing Home and surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her loving husband Jim, parents Patrick and Rose Markey, brothers Seamus and Benny. Deeply regretted by her loving daughters, Sharon (Brian), Sandra (James) and Ciaran, grandson Daire, sister in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and a large circle of friends.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Remains reposing at her residence H18XA66 on Wednesday and Thursday from 3pm to 8pm, with removal on Friday morning to St Mary's Church Rockcorry, arriving for 11 o'clock funeral Mass. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in Holy Trinity Cemetery.

House strictly private on Friday morning. Family flowers only please.

Please note a one way system is in place, enter by the pillar box cross and exit by Camphill.

As a mark of respect for the late Mary Murphy, Murphy's School of motoring will be closed until further notice.
