Heartbreak for Drumlane in Ulster Club final

Ulster Club JFC final

There was heartbreak for Drumlane this afternoon as they lost the Ulster Club JFC final in a penalty shoot-out against Tyrone champions Stewartstown.

A late Ryan Connolly free levelled the sides at 0-12 apiece at the end of normal time; Drumlane had led by two points at half-time and probably should have been further ahead.

Stewartstown bagged a penalty in the seventh minute of extra time but points from Michael Owens (two) and a Connolly free forced a shoot-out where unfortunately for the Sons of O’Connell, the Tyrone men prevailed.

More to follow.
