It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

James (Jimmy) Dunne

Ashgrove, Ballinagh and formerly Fairview , Cavan Town, Ballinagh, Cavan / Cavan Town, Cavan

The death has occurred of James (Jimmy) Dunne, Ashgrove, Ballinagh and formerly Fairview, Cavan Town, Sunday, November 27th 2022. James died peacefully, in the loving care of his family, at his home.

Predeceased by his beloved wife and best friend Mary. Jimmy will be sadly missed by his children Jackie (Jess), Sandra (Jimmy), Debbie (Declan), Adrian (Rosie), Jim (Gabby), Charmaine (Johnny), Karl (Mary) and Serena (Alan), his sisters Tina and Pat, brothers Danny and Brendan, all his adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a close circle of friends.

Jimmy will repose at his home (H12 WP84) on Monday evening from 4pm until 8pm and again on Tuesday from 4pm until 8pm. House private to family on Wednesday morning, please. You are reminded that Covid 19 is still very much in our presence and everyone is asked to exercise caution in that regard while visiting the house. Removal from home on Wednesday morning at 10.30am, on foot, to St. Felim's Church, Ballinagh, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Following the Funeral Mass, the cortege will make its way, on foot, to St. Felim's new cemetery, Crossdoney Road, for committal prayers and burial in the family plot.

No flowers please, donations, in lieu, would be appreciated, to Palliative Care, Cavan c/o of John or Philip McMahon, McMahon Funeral Home, Cavan, any family member or donation box at the house and the church.

Frances Gamman (née O' Reilly)

Mullagh, Cavan

Frances Gamman, neé O'Reilly, Rantavan, Mullagh, Co. Cavan & Smallfield, Horley, Surrey, England, at Gracewell Nursing Home, following a long illness.

Frances, beloved wife of the late Bill Gamman, Solicitor, Smallfield. Sister of Mary McCoy, Bristol & Bernadette McHugh, Mornington.

Deeply regretted by her sisters, her sister-in-law, Dora O'Reilly, Cahirciveen, nieces, nephews, relatives & friends.

May Frances Rest In Peace.

Desmond (Dessie) Smyth

Skeagh, Smithboro, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Desmond Smyth (Dessie), Skeagh, Smithboro, Co Monaghan, peacefully at his residence, on the 26th November. Predeceased by his father Joseph, mother Mary Ellen (Cissy) and his infant brother Paudge. Dessie will be sorely missed by his sisters Nell Gorman (Navan), Bridie Masterson (Clones), nieces, nephews, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.
