Cloudy day with a few spots of light rain

Cool with a showery easterly airflow developing. That's the latest weather outlook from Met Éireann.

Today will be a mainly cloudy day with a few spots of light rain or drizzle, but overall plenty of dry weather. It will occasionally brighten up in places. Moderate southerly breezes. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees.

Mostly cloudy tonight with limited clear breaks. Largely dry with the chance of shower, most likely along the east or southeast. Light southeast breezes. Lowest temperatures generally of 3 to 6 degrees, locally a little cooler where skies are clearest.

A good deal of cloud around again tomorrow mixed with occasional sunny spells. There will be well scattered showers, most of which in the east and south, feeding in on a light easterly airflow. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees.

Friday night will be misty in parts with fog patches in light easterly winds or near calm conditions. Quite cloudy but largely dry with isolated showers. Chilly with lowest temperatures of 2 to 5 degrees.

Mostly cloudy with showery outbreaks of rain in parts on Saturday, some places will stay dry. Light easterly or variable breezes. Highest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees.

Cloudy conditions with lingering rain on Saturday will clear however showers will follow from the east overnight. Patches of frost may form in lows of 0 to 4 degrees.

A mix of cloud and sunny spells with showers spreading westwards across the country, most frequent along the east coast. Feeling cold in temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees and with a moderate easterly wind. Showers will continue overnight, with the longest clear spells in the west. Another rather cold night with a touch of frost in lows of 0 to 4 degrees.

Monday currently looks to be mostly cloudy with further showers, with longer spells of rain possible for the east and south. A chilly day with highs of 5 to 8 degrees with light to moderate east or northeast winds.

Further outlook: There is uncertainty, but a cool and showery northeast airflow is likely during midweek bringing frosty nights.
