Brady’s VW drive forward with confidence

2022 has seen a big move toward electric vehicle sales and Brady of Arva is no different.

“The ID. 4 has been the best-selling electric car in Ireland and it’s the same for us”, says Martin Brady, who is a commercial and electric vehicle specialist at the main Volkswagen dealership.

“It’s a large SUV vehicle. Everyone is being more conscious about being more energy efficient,” he adds.

Electric car sales are making up an increasingly higher proportion of Brady’s sales in recent years, according to Martin.

“Last year electric cars were 20% of our business. This is up to 35% now. It shows no signs of slowing down in the future. There’s an increasingly large range of EVs. They’re covering most people’s needs,” he continues of the trend.

Despite the rising demand for electric vehicles, some of the old reliables in the Volkswagen range remain as popular as ever.

“The Polo and Golf are still as popular as ever, they’re very recognisable,” says Martin. “The Golf is one of the most iconic cars ever built. The Tiguan, Arteon... We also have a few smaller SUV types such as the T Cross and the new Taigo, which is a sporty SUV type car that has slotted into the market perfectly,” he outlines of the range.

Martin says Volkswagen have a vehicle to suit almost everybody.

“Volkswagen have a vast offering. There’s a model and a fuel type to suit everyone. They get it still with petrol and we have diesel. We have a plug-in hybrid. And also we have fully electric car. There’s a make, model and fuel type to suit everyone.”

Brady’s have been in business for over 60 years and Martin puts their success to their ethos of always putting the customer first.

“We are 61 years in business. We celebrated our 60th year in business last year. Philp Brady started the company in 1961 and his son Padraig is the dealer principal now. Customers are the core of everything we do. It’s been a strange couple of years, so we’d like to wish not just customers but everyone a merry Christmas and a happy and safe new year from all the team in Brady’s,” concludes Martin.
