It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Frances Brady (née Cooney)

Deanery Street, Belturbet, Cavan

Frances Brady (née Cooney) Deanery St., Belturbet, Co. Cavan, 3rd December 2022, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Rose. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Tony, son Ciarán, daughter Catherine, and adored grand-daughters Laura and Emily.

May Her Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Remains reposing in Lawlor's Funeral Home, Erne Hill, Belturbet on Monday evening, 5th December, from 5pm to 8pm.

Requiem Mass on Tuesday, 6th December, at 12noon in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Belturbet followed by private cremation in Lakelands Crematorium Cavan.

House private at all times.

Helen Carolan

Cathedral Road, Cavan Town, Cavan

The death has occurred of Helen Carolan, Cathedral Road, Cavan, retired from St. Louis Secondary Teaching Staff, Monaghan Town.

Saturday December 3rd 2022 peacefully, in the loving care of her family and friends and the outstanding staff of Cavan General Hospital and St. Joseph’s Lisdarn. Predeceased by her parents Benny and Josie Carolan. Helen will be very sadly missed by her brother Seán, sister in law Janice, niece Seóna, nephews Ciaran and Conor, cousins, friends, neighbours and former colleagues.

Helen will repose at her home in Cathedral Road, Cavan on Tuesday from 1pm until 6pm. Please be aware that Covid 19 is still very much with us and you are asked to take every precaution to protect the family and yourself while visiting the house. House private at all other times. Helen’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 11.30am in the Cathedral of Ss Patrick & Felim, Cavan. Following Mass the cortege will travel up Main St. in Cavan Town and on to St. Felim’s old cemetery, Ballinagh (in the church grounds) for committal prayers and burial in the family plot.

Jim McCarthy

Castleblayney Road, Carrickmacross, Monaghan, A81 X958

The death has occurred of Jim McCarthy, Castleblayney Road, Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, Saturday 3rd December 2022. Predeceased by his wife Teresa, parents Paddy and Teresa, sisters Lettie, Carmel, Maudie (Pettigrew) and nephew Peter. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his daughter Carmel, sons Pat, Jimmy, Carl and Fergus, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May His Gentle Soul Rest In Eternal Peace.

Reposing at his residence on Monday morning from 11am to 1pm and Monday afternoon from 6pm to 8pm. In an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19 please follow guidelines during the viewing times. Removal on Tuesday morning to St. Joseph’s Church, Carrickmacross (A81 K253) arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Carrickmacross.

Gerard (Jerry) Reid

Orchard Way, Ayrfield, Dublin / Castleblayney, Monaghan

Reid Gerard (Jerry) Orchard Way, Greenwood, Dublin, family connections in Croaghan Annyalla, Castleblaney, Monaghan. 3rd December 2022. Peacefully in Beaumont Hospital surrounded by his loving family and in the wonderful care of the doctors and nurses on St Lawrence’s Ward. Jerry will be very sadly missed by his daughter Laura, grandson Caolan, sister Geraldine, brother Michael, sisters, brothers, extended family, neighbours and friends especially Mark.

May he rest in Peace.
