It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Patricia Fitzsimons

Creighan Drive, Cavan Town, Cavan / Ballyhaise, Cavan

Patricia Fitzsimons, Creighan Drive, Cavan and Cavan Road, Ballyhaise, Co. Cavan. December 6th 2022, peacefully at the Mater Private Hospital, Dublin. Beloved daughter of the late Bernard Fitzsimons. Patricia will be very sadly missed by her heartbroken mother Kathleen, her family Charles, Andrew, Elizabeth, and Brian, brother in law Tom, sisters in law Carol and Mary, nieces and nephews, Niamh, Caolán, Meadhibh, Dearbháil, Ciarán, Éadáoin, Sinéad, Aislinn, Maria, Eimear and Emma, uncle Pat, all her relatives, neighbours and many friends.

May she rest in peace.

Patricia will repose at the family home, Cavan Road, Ballyhaise, H12 WRO2 on Thursday evening from 4pm until 8pm. Removal from home on Friday morning to St. Mary’s Church, Ballyhaise arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Following Mass the cortege will travel to Cullies Cemetery for committal prayers and burial in the family plot.

Remember that Covid 19 is still with us and you are asked to take every precaution when attending the funeral. We ask you to please use the masks provided at the door of the house. The family would like to thank all of you for your support and understanding at this sad time for them.

Philomena Flynn

Tully, Ballinamore, Leitrim / Bawnboy, Cavan

Formerly Boley, Bawnboy, Co. Cavan, Wednesday, 7th Dec. 2022, peacefully in the loving care of the doctors, nurses and staff at the P.D.U ward in Cavan General Hospital, following wonderful care in the Ballinamore Community Nursing Unit.

Predeceased by her parents John & Mary, her twin brother Seán and her infant sister Mary. Philomena will be dearly missed by her loving brother Philip, her relatives, neighbours and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Smith's Funeral Home, High St., Ballinamore, this Thursday evening from 6pm until 8 pm. Funeral Mass on Friday morning in St. Patrick’s Church, Ballinamore, at 12 noon with burial afterwards in Port Cemetery, Bawnboy. Co. Cavan. Funeral Mass may be viewed on www.churchtv.ie/ballinamore

Carmel Scully (née Lynch)

Santry, Dublin / Cavan

Scully, Carmel, (née Lynch) – 6th December 2022, (Santry, Dublin and formerly of Aughara shercock, Co. Cavan)), Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at Care Choice Nursing Home. Beloved wife of the late Gerard and loving mother of Una, Niall, Yvonne, the late John, Ciaran, Aidan, Jarlath and Damien. Sadly missed by her sons and daughters, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Jennings Funeral Home, Oscar Traynor Rd., Coolock, Friday afternoon, 9th December, from 3pm to 5pm. Removal on Saturday morning to the Church of Our Lady of Victories, Ballymun Rd, arriving for Funeral Mass at 10:00 am followed by burial in Knock Bride East Cemetery, Co. Cavan.

Fr. Terrence Smyth

Melitta Road, Kildare Town, Kildare / Ballyjamesduff, Cavan

Late of Clover Lodge Nursing Home, Athy and Kilnacroft Abbey, Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan. Peacefully, at Naas Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Sadly missed by his loving sisters Alice and Anne, brothers Padraig and Oliver, brother-in-law Padraic, sister-in-law Betty, nephews and nieces Sharon, Michael, Kathleen, Aine, Darragh, Sheila and Padraic, grandnephews and grandnieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at McWeys Funeral Home, Abbeyview, Kildare Town (Eircode: R51 TE20) on Wednesday (7th December) from 5pm with rosary at 7pm. Removal by Glennon's Funeral Directors on Thursday to arrive at The Carmelite Church, Kildare Town, for Requiem Mass at 2:30pm. Burial afterwards in St. Conleth's Cemetery, Kildare Town.

Kevin MARTIN

Middle Village, New York and formerly Treagh, Inniskeen, Louth / Inniskeen, Monaghan

Peacefully, in New York, on November 5th, 2022. Predeceased by his parents John and Anne and his sister Bridget. Kevin will be sadly missed by his loving sons Kevin, Brendan and Neil, his grandchildren Kevin, Katie, Isabella, Neil and Valentina, his brothers John, Paddy and Séamus, sisters Mary, Eileen and Sheila, brothers-in-law Tom Wright and Tom Joyce, sisters-in-law Lorna and Rosemary, nephews, nieces, cousins and a wide circle of friends

Requiem Mass was celebrated on November 10th in St. Margaret’s Church, Middle Village, followed by interment in nearby St. John’s Cemetery.

A Months Mind Mass will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church, Shelagh on Sunday, December 18th at 10.30am.
