Investigations ongoing following discovery of bodies in Ashbourne and Navan

Two separate Garda investigations are underway this morning (Sunday) after the discovery of bodies in different locations in Meath yesterday.

Gardaí in Navan attended the scene of the discovery of a body at a residential property on Academy Street close to the junction of Circular Road, Navan yesterday evening while Gardaí in Ashbourne are investigating the discovery of a body in unexplained circumstances yesterday afternoon, (Saturday 10th December.)

Both scenes are currently preserved with technical examinations to be conducted by the Garda Technical Bureau.

The body found in Kilbride area was discovered at around 4.30pm this afternoon in a wooded area by a person out walking, who then alerted the landowner and gardaí, who are treating it as suspicious. It is understtod the body, believed to be male, was wrapped up in heavy material.
