Entrepreneur wished well on new book

Cavan County Council has congratulated Margaret Farrelly on her new book, 'Free Range Blessings', based on her experience becoming the largest independent egg supplier in Ireland.

Ms Farrelly began selling free range eggs in the early 1980s to supplement income from her husband Leo's small farm. Clonarn Clover started with just 150 free range hens and over the years became a business boasting a flock of 160,000 hens, producing and packing 48 million eggs a year.

Fellow Mullagh native Shane P O’Reilly (Independent) celebrated what Mrs Farrelly has achieved as woman in the agri-food sector.

The book was launched at St Kilian’s Heritage Centre recently.

He thanked her for the employment her enterprise had brought to the local area. “I wish her well with her new book.”
