Twenty houses for Carrick

A major town centre housing development is being planned for Carrickmacross.

Local development firm Eakin Developments Ltd, with a registered business address at Annacroft, Carrickmacross, Monaghan, is seeking pre-validation in respect of a proposal to build 20 housing units on a greenfield site at Mullinarry.

The application was submitted to the planning section at Monaghan County Council last week, with a decision due in mid-March providing there are no delays in the process.

The Kenneth Lonergan designed scheme will involve demolishing three existing dwellings and outbuildings and replacing them with a housing scheme. It includes four two-bed, 10 three-bed and six four-bed dwellings, with an entrance onto Mullinary Street, and connection to all existing services. The entrance will be constructed as a raised access allowing pedestrians to retain priority. On-street parking associated with the existing dwellings on the subject site have been relinquished and the parking for these dwellings will be incorporated within the development site, circa 0.55ha.
