Minister Humphreys attends Warrington Bombing anniversary events

A series of events took place on Monday March 20 to mark the 30th anniversary of the Warrington Bombing in Manchester.

The event was attended by Minister Heather Humphreys who attended a series of commemorations, including a visit to the site of the bombing.

The event was also attended by the families of two young boys, Jonathan Ball (3) and Tim Parry (12) who were killed when two bombs hidden in litter bins exploded on March 20 1993.

54 others were injured in the blasts.

The anniversary commemoration will also be attended by former British Prime Minister John Major.

“The horrific events that occurred in Warrington in 1993 bring to the fore the importance of peace and reconciliation on our islands,” Minister Humphreys said.

“It is deeply humbling to represent the Irish Government in Warrington today to remember Jonathan Ball and Tim Parry,” she added.
