Paddy Curran (Cattle Dealer) Drumcarn, Ballyhaise, Co. Cavan. Suddenly at his residence. Deeply regretted by his wife Patricia, son Philip (Gabriella), daughter, Noleen (John Daly), grandchildren Melissa and Nathan, relatives and friends.

Mary Anne Duffy (née Tully)

Lucan, Dublin / Stillorgan, Dublin / Cavan

Duffy (née Tully), (Lucan, Dublin and formerly of Stillorgan, Dublin and Drumahon, Cavan) May 9th, 2023 (peacefully) in the loving care of the staff at Griffeen Valley Nursing Home, Mary Anne (Molly), beloved wife of the late Frank and dear mother of Kathleen, Teresa, Una, Francis, Bernard, Eugene and the late Maura and mother in law to the late Desmond. Sadly missed by her loving family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law Jim and Ray, daughters-in-law Anne and Lorraine, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

May she rest in peace.

Reposing at her son-in-law’s residence on Thursday evening (May11th) between 6 pm and 8 pm. Removal on Friday morning (May 12th) to St. Patrick’s Church, Esker arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am followed by burial in Dean’s Grange Cemetery. Mary’s funeral Mass may be viewed online (live only) by following this LINK. Sean Smith (Frank), Drumbee, Kilnaleck, Co. Cavan, Tuesday, May 9th, peacefully surrounded by his family and the Staff of Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by his parents John Frank & May, sister Margaret and brother Desmond. Sadly missed by his loving family, wife Dolly, daughters Mairead, Sinead & Annmarie, sons Frank & Micheàl, sons in law Micheal & Brian, Frank's partner Nuala, sisters Maura, Teresa (Vance, Aughnacliffe) & Una, brothers Patsy, Michael & Jim, his 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Briody's Funeral Home, Kilnaleck on Wednesday evening from 6pm to 9pm. Removal from his home on Thursday to St. Patrick's Church, Kilnaleck for Funeral Mass at 2pm. Burial afterwards in Kill Cemetery. House strictly private at all times please. Veronica (Verney) McCabe (née Martin)

Nafferty, Ballybay Road, Carrickmacross, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Veronica 'Verney' McCabe (née Martin), Nafferty, Ballybay Road, Carrickmacross, and formerly of 8 Parnell Street, Carrickmacross and also Tonaneave, Magheracloone, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan.

Verney passed away peacefully on Monday, 8th May 2023, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, surrounded by her loving family after a long illness borne over many years with great dignity. She was predeceased by her infant daughter, Mary; by her husband Paddy; by her parents PJ & Verney and by her brother, Carroll.

Verney is survived by her sons, Joseph and Eugene, (both Carrickmacross); by her daughters, Anne (Carrickmacross) and Orla, (Ardee); and by her adored grandson, James; by her sisters Kathleen (Ballyjamesduff), Mary and Eilish (both Dublin) and Joan (Kingscourt, Co Cavan); by her brother Val, (Cavan Town); her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a very wide circle of friends. Verney is also survived by her close personal carers of many years – her 'A Team' - Majella McEneaney and Ann Finlay, her 'B Team' - Bernie Rooney and Riina Siivak Laanet, and also by her additional carers, Anne Shekleton, Teresa Crosby, Ann Creigh, Sarah Muldoon, Catriona O'Reilly, Armida Naujokiene and Evelyn Reyburn.

Verney's remains will repose at Deery's Funeral Home, Carrickmacross, (A81 C653) on Thursday, 11th May, from 4.00pm. to 9.00pm. Verney's funeral cortège will leave Deery's Funeral Home on Friday, 12th May, at 10.30am, proceeding on foot to St. Joseph's Church, Carrickmacross and arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by private family cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.
