It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Thomas Joseph (T. J.) Prior

Altachullion, Corlough, Cavan

Predeceased by his father James and brother Seamus. Loving son of Mary-Kate and brother of Bernard, Mary (Seamus), Bridie, Kathleen, Christina (John), Seán (Anne-Marie), Eamon (Maria). He will be sadly missed by his extended family, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Smith’s Funeral Home, High St., Ballinamore,(N41 TD62) this Tuesday evening from 6pm until 8pm. Removal on Wednesday morning from the home of his brother Seán in Altachullion, to arrive at St. Patrick's Church, Corlough (H14 VK30), for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Tom Mallon

25 Ard Na Lurgan, Castleblayney, Monaghan / Keady, Armagh

The death has occurred of Tom Mallon, 25 Ard Na Lurgan, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan and formerly Carnagh, Keady, Co.Armagh, Sunday May 14th peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his family. Deeply regretted and remembered with love by his family, daughter Bernie, grand-daughter Colleen (Aidan), grand-sons Colm (Suze), Cathal (Maria) and Patrick, Tom’s extended family of Patrick, Dermot and Anita whom have been pre-deceased by their mother Mary, nephews Michael, Gerard, Arthur and Kevin, niece Shirley and their families, neighbours and friends.

Tom will repose at his daughter Bernie’s residence, 25 Ard Na Lurgan, today Monday from 4pm until 8pm and again tomorrow Tuesday from 4pm until 8pm. Tom’s funeral cortège will travel from the residence on Wednesday morning at 11:30am (driving) to arrive at St Mary’s Church Castleblayney (via Main Street) for funeral Mass at 12 noon, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Castleblayney Cancer Society C/o Wards Funeral Home or by donation box. House private to family on Wednesday morning only please.

Colette Whelan (née Byrne)

Santry, Dublin / Carrickmacross, Monaghan / Dundalk, Louth

The death has occurred of Colette Whelan (née Byrne). Santry, Dublin & Corduff, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan. 15th May 2023, in her 87th year. Peacefully, surrounded by her cherished family, in the wonderful care of the staff of Curam Care Home, Dundalk. Predeceased by her husband Maurice and her son Michael.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by her beloved family, her heartbroken daughter Siobhán, her son-in-law Adrian, her much-loved grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and neighbours.

MAY SHE REST IN PEACE.

Colette will repose at Lonergan Funeral Directors Funeral Home, Carrickmacross, A81 D328, on Tuesday, 16th May, from 5pm until 7pm.

Following private family prayer, Colette's funeral cortège will leave the Funeral Home on Wednesday, 17th May, proceeding to St. Paul's Cemetery, Glasnevin, for burial, arriving at 1:30pm.

Nuala White

Dundalk, Louth / Monaghan

Nuala White, formerly of Monaghan and Dundalk. Peacefully in Carlingford Nursing Home, 15th May 2023, Nuala, beloved daughter of the late Elizabeth and John. Loving sister of Pearl, Oliver, Tony, the late Jim and her late brother in law Willie. Nuala will be sadly missed by her brothers, sister, sister in law Sheila, nephews and nieces Olivera, Tristan, Jeremy and Miranda, relatives, friends and her ex-colleagues from Macardle Moore.

Nuala will repose at McGeoughs Funerals Home, Jocelyn Street, Dundalk A91XW66 from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday. Funeral Mass on Wednesday morning at 11am in St Joseph’s Redemptorist Church.
