RENOWNED Folk singer plays live slot at NPR’s Tiny Desk and BBC's Later with Jools Holland

Cavan’s Lisa O’Neill has enjoyed an amazing double of performing on two of the biggest live music shows on the planet: NPR Music’s iconic Tiny Desk and BBC's ever popular Later with Jools Holland.

The shows are the latest glittering landmarks on the Ballyhaise singer's ever upward career trajectory. Lisa plays a song from her latest critically acclaimedd album ‘All Of This Is Chance’ on the Jools Holland's show tonight - 9.50pm on BBC2. For the occasion she shares the Later billing, filmed at Alexandra Palace Theatre, with compatriot Hozier, and 2021 Mercury Prize winner Arlo Parks.

An even bigger deal than the Later appearance is her live showfilmed at the Tiny Desk show hosted by Bob Boilen in Washington DC. The folk singer has just completed a 12 night tour of the States, with sold out shows in New York, Massachusetts and Illinois.

Although the video of her Tiny Desk Concert has not yet been posted online, photographer Anthony Mulcahy - originally from Co. Waterford but now based in the U.S.- has a number of shots of this intimate performance on social media.

“I always burst with pride when I see Irish musicians behind Bob's desk,” he captioned one photo.

Lisa herself posted online to thank Bob Boilen and his crew for “the incredibly warm welcome into DC” as well as Anthony Mulcahy for the “lovely photographs”.

Lisa is the latest Irish musician to play the Tiny Desk- following Lankum, Lisa Hannigan, Villagers, Glen Hansard, Hozier, The Cranberries, Fontaines D.C. and others.

On home soil Lisa has just been added to the billing for All Together Now in Co. Waterford (August 4-6), and is set to appear also at Doolin Folk Festival in Co. Clare (June 9-11), and the Earagail Arts Festival in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal (July 16).

Other dates have just been added for shows in October and December.
