Let Cavan Credit Union help Greenify your home

Cavan Credit Union’s loans can help homeowners benefit from renewable energy and save money in the long run. That’s one of the important messages those attending this week’s Renewable Energy Event in Cavan Town will hear.

“We are delighted to be part of an upcoming Renewable Energy Event with Hybrid Energy Group and Electric Ireland Superhomes,” Julie Galligan (far right), marketing manager of Cavan Credit Union told The Anglo-Celt.

The event takes place this evening (Thursday), May 25 in the Hotel Kilmore, Cavan from 5.30-8pm.

The evening will feature a host of speakers who will discuss the various options open to homeowners looking to do home energy upgrade work. They will be discussing the SEAI grants and funding available, including the latest 0% VAT on all Solar PV Systems.

The focus will be on how homeowners can save by switching to renewable energy, and how they can fund the investment with low interest rate loans - which is where Cavan Credit Union comes in.

“We are currently offering a specific loan for Home Energy Upgrade works, with our Greenify loan. The rate is a very competitive 6.5%. So a loan of €25,000 over five years at 6.5% (6.7% APR) costs €489.15 per month, with a total cost of credit €4,349.22.”

Julie advised: “I will be there myself on the evening and will be more than happy to discuss loan options with anyone interested in financing works with a Credit Union loan.

“I will also have copies of our new Greenify Guide, this is a really handy tool for people interested in upgrading the energy efficiency of their home. The Greenify Guide includes a detailed overview of the home energy improvements available on the market.

“From small wins to large scale investment, the guide aims to break down the steps involved in securing finance for, and implementing, home energy upgrades. Making home energy upgrades more accessible to Credit Union members is a core reason for Greenify loans to exist.”

Julie added that the evening will also be of interest to the farming community, as the speakers will also discuss the TAMS 3 grants, which is of keen interest to farm families.

“For anyone thinking of doing energy upgrade works, whether it’s one single measure, a whole home retrofit or farm or business upgrades, this is an event you won’t want to miss,” enthused Julie.
